Going out to Fitzroy was spectacular, nothing but peace and beauty, you start the day with lounging and relaxing, fitting in a tan you can then choose to go on the bottle glass boat to gather information about the coral reef and the island, very interesting (guide was fantastic), you can then go snorkeling to see turtles and colorful fish and enjoy the warm water. After that there is the option to walk to the lighthouse and then hike to the summit which is breath taking. I could have spent a week on the island and then feel satisfied with doing everything but one day is not enough. The crew are funny and so so so relaxed and that's nice to be on holiday with these guys! There is the option for the hotel which looks very welcoming with bar and restaurant along the front with an out standing view.

Visited yesterday and was left feeling a bit disappointed. Welcome bay beach ok. Snorkelling was dry disappointing! Equipment was useless- my partner was told it's because he has stubble his goggles always leak?? So what's my excuse as being a female I don't have stubble!! If you can bare to climb rock boulders and track up very tricky unmade path and dodge massive rock boulders then visit Nudey beach! It is amazing! Beautiful white sand and blue and turquoise waters!!!! Overall was ok but nothing to rave about!!!!

We are a family of 5 & we wanted to spend the day on an island snorkeling, swimming & exploring. I am so glad we didn't go with a big tourist boat. The guys who ran raging thunder were brilliant & we had an amazing day. We had a package that included most things. The kids loved snorkeling, the on water trampoline & a little paddling in the kayak. I would highly recommend this tour operator & attention to making sure everyone is having fun.

We were travelling through Cairns and looking to do some cool trips without breaking the bank. Found tickets to Fitzroy Island on bookme.com for 1/2 price and jumped on the opportunity. After experiencing the quality of service and how awesome the island was I can say we would have been more than happy to pay full price. The staff is welcoming and hilarious. Nothing but smiles and at the same time very professional. The island itself is a great place to spend a day whether you are a broke backpacker like us or a family or couple willing to shell out some bucks for a nice meal on the beach. We did not book any extras and had a great time hiking all over and snorkeling. Even ran into a turtle off "bird sh** rock" and swam around with him for a good 10 minutes. Fantastic time. Thanks Raging Thunder!

Raging Thunder boat and trip to and from Cairns to Fitzroy Island is amazing, their staff fun, professionals and experienced. On this trip the staff were so super friendly. . . . way past expected. They make you feel like family.
Fifty minutes and you arrive at Fitzroy Island. Lots to do, amazing walks, Nudey Beach is a kick as is taking the kayak trip over to Little Fitzroy Island.
This place is quiet and offers an abundance of beach space. The beach is part sand and part coral pieces. Foxxy's is the resort's lunch and bar spot.
Lots of beach activities.
