Nice views from ocean view room. Not too far from CBD on the airport side of town. Buffet breakfast was good. I would stay there again. The only let down was a few hairs in the bathroom ( one curly one in the bath)
Had a wonderful stay at this very good value hotel in a perfect location.
Food and service in restaurant was great.
Staff were all friendly and helpful.
Handy shuttle bus to town centre was a great bonus.
We will be back.
My family five adults and three children stayed at the Mercure for two nights and was very impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms. The Mercure had a good choice for breakfast, full English, Continental and much more. TV, tea/coffee making facilities, fridge, two double beds (although there was only two of us). Large swimming pool and sun beds. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our evening meal was excellent. They provide a mini bus that takes you into town and they also book tours for you. We went on the Sky Rail Walk which was enjoyable if you have a head for heights (I dont) and couldn't wait for it to end but enjoyed the train with spectacular views. Would have liked to have stayed at the Mercure for a few more nights. Good value and would definitely stay there again.

What a contrast to the previous nights experience in Townsville. Great check in service massive room well appointed room with wifi internet. The bathroom was well appointed and clean. Bags down and off for a quick walk along the foreshore.. being at the top end it is a reasonable walk into the centre of Cairns but that said it feels more relaxed. Breakfast was a cracker great range of delicious foods including waffles, pancakes pastries yum.
Excellent Hotel, can't fault it , staff very helpful & friendly, great room with great view. Good food and excellent wait staff, all in all a great holiday hotel, the bus into town is good but maybe it could be extended to pick up guests from the airport if they have no transport arranged.
Will stay again.
Staff really friendly, room comfortable. Buffet breakfast pleasant but have had nicer. Location - distance from cairns city so free shuttle bus very welcome. Hours of shuttle bus 10-10: too late for morning departures to the reef, so a taxi is required. Too far to walk home after a pleasant meal out (walking through unsafe neighbourhood). "Raw Prawn" a great restaurant! Overall pleasant place to stay but location not in the hub.
