This hotel had no restaurant for dinner, just buffet breakfast. No bar. Very limited parking. We parked on the street.Room was small. Pools were okay. Located next to a shopping mall. Otherwise a long way from anything in Cairns.

I got the room for $50AUD through Latestays.com, and thought it was fantastic value. The room I had was probably one of the cheaper rooms, but it was great value. Clean, roomy, and overlooking the pool. Ok, the bathroom was a bit ordinary, but seriously, for the money who was going to complain? The pools looked great, and there were regular shuttle buses into town. That is a good thing, because the resort is out of the city centre. But I would stay there again, no problems

The Palm Royale in Cairns has a great location just outside of the city, adjacent to a small local shopping center. Accommodating bus route to and from the city and airport and was recognized as a pick-up point for most tours. Nice pool and newly renovated rooms, with ample breakfast buffet. Beds, however, were horrible. Basic rooms offer three single size beds that were very uncomfortable, and the pillows felt like rocks. Other negative is local wildlife; cockatoos nest in the trees outside of the hotel, and their raucous shrieks can keep you from hearing your own thoughts.

This hotel could be alright with a serious amount of work. Room fittings are very outdated, about adequately clean and breakfast is a rip off... powdered eggs and greasy bacon... 21 AUD!!! No cafe/food available for the rest of the day either. The trip into town on the shuttle bus costs a few dollars a day and takes 20 minutes.

we stayed for 9 days. was abit worried at first because it was so cheap, but was very impressed. it needs abit of work done to the place but was nice & quiet & very relaxing. The cleaning could of been better. Value for money. Out of town but has good shuttle service or 12$au cab too town. Room was comfy yet roomy, even with a cot set up in it. All the staff we're exellent. Will definately stay again. Must mention Megan! She drove the bus, she provided the best customer service i have come across in a long time.

Great value at $65 for room with king size bed. Room was spotless as was bathroom, which had a great shower. Saw a few ants, but this is the tropics! Woke up with a bit of a backache due to unsuppportive foam mattress topper. Very limited parking, but found a space on the street both nights. Good to stay away from the noise of the Cairns tourist ghetto.
