Stepping into Sebel Cairns feels like you are about to embark on a tropical safari, greeted by old-worlde style mixed with contemporary finishes. Iconic architectural features such as the Colonial soaring white columns have been updated with splashes of modern designer elements making it the perfect blend of Far North Queensland style mixed with luxury.
In addition to this stylish décor is the warm service, making you feel like a VIP and attending to your every need, like you are the only guest, which is a real feat considering the 300+ rooms in the hotel.
Upgraded to a Premium Harbour View room, I enjoyed watching the boats return to the marina from their reef adventures. The rooms were far more spacious than traditional hotel rooms and the red Italian marble ensuite, while not ultra modern added to the luxurious and opulent feel.
While I stayed in the wet season, the pool area looked like in finer weather it would be a mecca for cool, hip, young holidaymakers to lounge around soaking up the tropical heat.
The breakfast buffet was the only disappointment on what was an outstanding stay, the hot buffet was missing many of my favourites making way for a variety of Asian offerings obviously catering to this group market.
Sebel Cairns is perfectly positioned to explore the reef & rainforest from your oasis of opulence.More
