More than we ever expected. Very clean, lots of free activities, beautiful place, staff extremely helpful and approachable. The only let down was the cafe (privately run) and very disappointing... Easily fixed by eating out or at camp site. If management could influence the cafe to lift standards to match the park the whole experience there would be SASS
Will certainly recommend this park to anyone.

Lots to do for kids. Very clean large Holiday Park. Friendly, helpful staff. Expensive relative to other holiday parks, but worth it for the kids.

Thank you for your review written following your stay with us in July. We are most pleased to read that you stayed here on the strength of what you have read on Trip Advisor and to see that we have met your expectations is even better. We do pride ourselves here at the Resort on great customer service as well providing a great range of activities for kids of all ages to enjoy.
We also note your comments regarding the proximity of some cabins to the road but can advise that most are built with extra insulation etc to overcome road noise in that area. Again thank you for taking time to write a review and trust your journey home was a safe and enjoyable one.

We booked and stayed at Coconut on the strenghth of Trip Advisor. It did not dissapoint. The staff are extremely helpful and there are lots of them, especially at reception. The resort is very clean and tidy and has fantastic facilities for kids. I can only comment on the accomodation which we stayed in which was a Spa Villa and that was great. Clean and functional with aircon units in each room. The shuttles are great, taxi's did not miss once and there is a local supermarket, Take Aways and Liquor Store about ten minuteswalk away. Fridge freezer, Microwave and cooker/ oven where great and we used them most nights cooking ourselves. Two points to note.
Before booking you need to loook at their web site and google maps at the lay out. I would not personally be booking any units that are situated adjacent to the main highway into Cairns unless you are waiting for cochlear implants. The highway was busy. Secondly it is not really walkable into town, buses are cheap and shuttle is free if you have no time constraints or a taxi cost us around $20.00 to Reef Terminal if you have no car.

We had another great stay again at this wonderful place, parked our camper trailer in the carport and hired a spa cabin for 2 x nights. Fab place for couples & families.
Lots of great water features for the kids, now on onsite a small restaurant/cafe.
Staff are very friendly & helpful, open early to late at night, they can make any tour bookings for you as well. Often pick can be arranged from the front of the property.
It rained around 300mm overnight 1 night and we were snugg & dry all night, better than being under canvas!
We have stayed here several times over approx 15yrs and enjoyed each visit, great work guys!

Room Tip: Spa cabins are bigger espically if you love a bath!

We are so pleased to read in your review that we have again met your expextations in providing a great place to stay and especially for the Kids. We do strive to show great personal and friendly service from all the staff here at the resort as we do see it as a most important part of the business. We have had a wet July which is very unseasonal to say the least but I do think that the biggest drop we had in the month was 85ml one night with some areas just south of Cairns recording up to 300ml. We look forward to the next time you return to the Resort and thankyou for taking time to post your review

Stayed 6 nights at the Coconut Resort in Cairns for a school holidays winter break. Alas it was rather cool, even in Cairns however the kids aged 9 and 4 still had a great time at the resort and even swam in the two large pools despite the water being rather icy (they are not heated pools)
Accommodation was a small "Tropical Ensuite Cabin" at about A$190 per night (peak season of course) right next door to the jumping pillows and "splash waterpark". Oner double bed and the two bunks were quite adequate and fully self contained. The unit was modern, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The staff at the resort are very friendly and helpful. The playgrounds, free nightly movies and the weekly "fire engine" rides makes this a very child focussed resort.
Overall, a great place if you have young kids and well worthy of consideration if heading to Cairns. It is located a few kilometres out of town so good idea to have a car.

Room Tip: Cabins away from the main road are quieter.

Thankyou so much for your review and am pleased to read that you and the family enjoyed your stay with us. I will pass on your comments regarding the cleanlyness of the room to the housekeeping staff as some times they are the forgotten back bone of the Resort. We do ofcourse run our Courtesy Coach down town three times a day to overcome the the 7 kilometres that we are from the city centre and hopefully the girls on the front did let you know of the service. Again thank you for your review and hope to see you back at the Resort another time.

I must say as a solo traveller it can be a challenge to be impressed with tourist parks during school holidays. Coconut was a paradox. From the most efficient, well staff checkin i've experience to immaculately clean amenities this tourist park ticks all the boxes. Well done!

Room Tip: Site 67 was fantastic in size and location.

Stayed a full week, On the plus side kids enjoyed the water park, pool, jumping pillows, play area.
Most areas seem to be kept clean.

Luxury Villa- maybe it was luxury in 1976 but not now-the accomodation is basic with low quality old furniture, beds, sofas that are collapsing, poor kitchen essentials. Villa had a Sat TV which had poor reception. One dark bedroom has 2 x bunk beds with poor ventilation small slit window, design inspiration probably came from the accomodation block on a nuclear submarine.

Worst part of the park is the park cafe with its fast heat up expensive frozen microwave meals or deep fried junk food. Best to avoid it at all cost.

Food shopping at the park is very basic, with an expensive dairy style store, the owners could earn twice as much money if they actually invested in some basic food stock. Thankfully there is a resonable food store within 5 minutes across the main road.

Finally the speed limit in the park is supposed to be 8 KPH, all the guests we saw had no problem abiding by that rule but it does not seem to apply to the staff who hurtle around in their golf buggies with the pedal to the metal. I read from previous reviews that this has been mentioned before but nothing has changed. Maybe once they run over a child the penny with drop.

The park advertises free wi fi but in the small print you are allowed 3hrs per day and a max download limit of 100MB. Plus the signal strength is hit and miss with drop outs and the frustration that goes with it.

We are pleased to read that the kids enjoyed their week here at the Resort and that you found the Resort to be clean and tidy. We do strive to ensure that all areas of the Resort are maintained at all times. We are sorry to read that the room did not meet your expectations and have logged a call to have the sat TV looked at as the service is usually very good. I have passed on your comments regarding the cafe and shop to the lessee's for them to look at and take on board. I have had a meeting with the team here to advise them that speeding in the park will not be tolerated and if more severe action is required then it will be. I feel that it is the behaviour of a few that lets the team down but again have addressed the issue already today.
Thank you for taking the time to post your review.
