My wife and I spend a night at Cairns Coconut Holiday Resort on the last night of our campervan trip from Brisbane to Cairns. We found that we had left the best till last. From the friendly welcome and a personal tour of the park right through to the friendly farewell with a bag of sweets the service was outstanding. We stayed on an en-suite powered site and the luxury of having our own bathroom was worth every cent of the additional charge. We travel as a couple but could clearly see how this holiday park would be a favorite destination for those with children.

Room Tip: If you are travelling in a campervan (RV) or with a caravan get an en-suite site. It is worth the ex...

Dear Kiwi-Freds, Thank you very much for your excellent review. Hopefully leaving "the best till last" was a fantastic way to end your Brisbane/Cairns holiday. We are always pleased to hear that our staff are genuinely friendly. You are spot on regarding the ensuite sites as they are very popular with everyone that experiences them. Families with children certainly do have a great time with all of our activities here at Cairns Coconut Holiday Resort. We do hope that you will get the opportunity to visit again in the future.

We stayed in a holiday unit. Space was quite cramped for 5 people (2 adults ,3 children), though 1 person less than the maximum, however we were aware of that in advance, and good way to save some money on accommodation when traveling as a family or larger group. Sofa bed quite uncomfortable though. Nothing luxurious as expected for the prize. The facilities in the park seemed great for kids, though we didn´t get to take advantage of it all as the weather was quite cold and rainy. The park is far from the CBD, but they do have a free shuttle bus, and there is also a local public bus that stops just outside so it is quite easy to go down town. We didn´t find the location a problem as we mainly had full day activities planned like going to the great barrier reef, cape tribulation etc The restaurant had quite a range of food and drinks. Wifi was very unstable, a lot of the time it didn´t work, though they did have a 4G network in the reception area that worked most of the time.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Easy to arrange airport shuttle.

Dear Barbro S, Thank your for taking the time to submit your review. We are disappointed that you found your Holiday Unit a bit small for your family. Depending on the age of children, this is often a good way for families to save on their accommodation costs. We are pleased that you didn't find our location a problem with our free shuttle bus available. We have been struggling with our WiFi service for some time. As I am sure you will have noticed our mobile coverage here is atrocious and sadly our Telstra copper cable internet service is the same! We are currently undertaking a major review of this system and our with a view to a implementing major upgrade (including fibre cable) by the end of the year. Great to hear that you found our staff "friendly and helpful".

Very clean park and worth the price for a powered site. Sites are a good size, ameneties always spotless. The staff were extremely helpful and even give you a personal guided tour of the park on arrival. Courtesy bus into town but you can get a bus back from the city which drops you off at the doors to the park. One downside was the rock church nearby. They played their very loud music on Thursday night until 10pm.

Dear nozzerandjim, Thank you very much for sending in your review after your recent stay with at us. We are very pleased that you found our park very clean and thought your site was good value for money. It is great that you enjoyed your guided buggy tour of the resort and importantly that you found our staff extremely helpful. Our apologies regarding the music. I understand that it actually comes from the College next door where they permit band practices sporadically.

We spent 5 nights at the resort in a tropical ensuite cabin and can not fault it at all. It truly is paradise!! the facilities etc are amazing we spent one full day enjoying all the resort had to offer and only wish we had longer! My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the red fire engine rides and had 3 turns including the front seat. We were also glad we could participate in the pancake breakfast on Thursday morning and found the staff so friendly and helpful. Would definitely love to come back again in our caravan :-)

We loved our stay at Cairns Coconut Resort! The staff were very helpful and extremely friendly. The park is tidy and well maintained.
It's a fantastic park for families and I think it would even be enjoyable for couples or singles.
We had booked a tropical ensuite cabin but were very lucky and got upgraded to a 2 bedroom spa villa. It was nicely set up and enjoyable to stay in.
Our 3.5 year old daughter absolutely loved the playground, jumping pillows and splash park.
A family could easily spend their whole holiday within the park and not get bored!
We will definitely be returning!!

We stayed at Coconut Resort in a Luxury Villa for 2 adults & 2 children in July/Aug 2014.

Overall it exceeded our expectations with friendly and helpful staff, wonderful facilities with most free in-house, lots of things to do with our 4 & 5 year old children to keep them entertained all day long. Grounds were exceptional and it has a safe and happy feel about the Resort.

The 2 good things that we noticed if you want a real “family” holiday is no swim up drinking pool bar and no kids club.

It was relaxing for parents aswell and with activities like water aerobics and tennis which meant there was a lot to do for both adults and children. My children really enjoyed the Bingo morning and the water parks kept them entertained for hours. Ability to book tours at main desk was an advantage plus having a Café/Restaurant open for breaky, lunch and at night when you didn’t feel like cooking, was an added bonus within the Resort. My children thoroughly enjoyed the Movie Nights and all of the activities like mini golf, playground, jumping pillow and engine rides. Plus free pancake Thursday was a hit with everyone and great way to meet other travelling people within the resort. We were able to say within the Resort for a few days and just enjoy the facilities that they had in-house.

Free courtesy bus to Cairns CBD and back was great with ability to order online via Woolies for initial grocery shop plus IGA, other shops & McDonalds in walking distance. Resort is not that far out of the CBD (7km's) from memory.

Our Villa suited us with our own bbq, washing machine & dishwasher and a bit more space with 2 rooms with pre-school children and we stayed 8 nights.

Resort was 80% yet it didn't feel 'busy' with people and was quiet in the morning and lots of land space with various travelling people staying there ie. families, couples etc.

Overall we would recommend this to other families as this was recommended to us by travelling friends and would be happy to return and visit the Resort again.

Room Tip: Our Villa suited us with our own bbq, washing machine & dishwasher and a bit more space with 2 r...

Dear SonjaBM2014, Thank you very much for taking your time to submit your wonderland review. We do aim to exceed expectations so it is excellent to hear that we achieved this particularly with our "friendly and helpful staff and wonderful facilities". We note with interest your comments regarding no swim up drinking pool bar and no kids club and fully understand your reasons for this. It was interesting to read that along with our 20 plus free activities your children really enjoyed the Bingo. Our free "all you can eat" pancakes on Thursday mornings are a great breakfast and an excellent way to meet other Australian and international guests. It would be great if you were able to return to the north and visit again.
