“Wonderful Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 October 2012

My wife, two friends and I stayed at the hotel while in Cairns. They booked three trips for us and were extremely helpful. We loved their complimentary breakfasts, punctual airport shuttle service and beautiful, central setting. I would highly recommend these accomodations!

Price is reasonable but the Queens Court markets itself as a hotel but really it is more like a back packers. A lot of rooms do not have their own bathroom and there is no lift which for us meant lugging bags up 3 flights of stairs. You also need to shower with the door shut or the steam sets off the fire alarm system (happened to us). If you are looking for backpacker style accommodation then this place is clean and staff are helpful.

The location is not great. It is a long walk to reasonable restaurants.

Room Tip: Ask for you own bathroom in the non-smoking area.

Hi there Andy,

Thank you for taking the time to review Queens Court. Your time and feedback are appreciated.
I must correct you with regards to you stating that a lot of our rooms are like a backpackers. We do have rooms with shared bathroom facilities. However, out of 81 rooms in total at Queens Court only 8 have the shared facilities. We do have a varying styles of accommodation here from 2 & 1/2 star up to 4 star, all rooms being non-smoking.
Unfortunately we do not have elevators. However if you require assistance with your baggage we are more than happy to help.
We do ask that guests exercise general caution and shut the bathroom door when showering as excess steam can set of the fire alarm. This is only suggested to guests as a precautionary measure.
Again I thank you for taking the time to review Queens Court and I hope you find the above information helpful.

Regards

Must admit this was good value, friendly staff, clean & a good breakfast. But, we booked this hotel because of the pick-up service advertised, on reaching Cairns the pick-up service was only operating between 10am & 12pm Mon to Fri. How many flights actually come in that time bracket! We also found it was a long walk to any restaurants. And had to lug our cases up 2 flights of stairs.

Thank you for taking the time to review Queens Court. Your honest feedback is very much appreciated.
However I must correct you with regards to our pick up service times. Queens Court offers a courtesy PICK UP service from the airport Monday - Friday from 7am - 5pm (excluding public holidays). We ask that once your plane has landed and you have collected your luggage to call the Hotel and we will send a driver out to collect you. Unfortunately we can not have a driver waiting at the airport due to security reasons.
We also offer return transfers to the airport at 10am & 12:30pm Monday - Friday excluding public holidays and these are what I'm assuming you thought were our pick up times.
With regards to having to carry your luggage up the stairs, if you ask at reception there is always someone available to assist you in carrying your luggage if you find it too difficult.
I hope you find the above information helpful and we hope to see you again someday in sunny Cairns!

Regards,
Michael Roszak

We were seeking reasonably priced accommodation for overnight in Cairns. A competing hotel we enquired at was full and found a vacancy for us at Cairns Queens Court (all credit to friendliness of Queensland service industry) staff at Queens Court were great. Our rooms (two couples travelling together) were excellent. Clean, tidy, and suitable for our needs. Rooms smallish but ensuite generous sized. Price included breakfast which was well above expectations and again, staff were courteous, clean and friendly. Have experienced other Cairns hotels which were a bit shabby, but this one faultless in presentation, and we will recommend to fellow travellers who want quiet rooms, cleanliness and efficiency.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room where traffic will not annoy you, and you should be happy with your stay

Great value, nice and quiet location. I stayed in a 'superior twin room' which has an ensuite.
Rooms are clean and a good size including fridge, safe, hairdryer, modern flatscreen tv etc.

The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Place has a small pool and 3 sun loungers just in case you want to stay by the pool for a day but it's not that far from the main central part of Cairns (10 min walk to seafront) and there's a huge public lagoon/lido there which is brilliant (and free)!!

Breakfast served includes toast, cereal, coffee, tea, jams and spread and you have a choice of sitting inside or outside.

Room Tip: All areas of the hotel are quiet at night. Superior and Premium rooms have ensuites.

We we greeted with a nice and quiet place , clean and tidy and peaceful. The hotel is economical and included breakfast and airport pick up. We enjoyed our trip and all our bookings were done from the hotel and all went very well.

all pickups on time and the advise given by the staff was apt and as required by us.

Special thanks to Tara for her assistance which made our stay even more pleasant. !!!! cheers Harry. Recommended for people looking for a good clean peaceful and economical stay.

Room Tip: We chose the superior double room which is a good one for couple and at a very economical stay.

We had booked to stay 3 nights on our way to our son's wedding further up the coast. We also stayed for a further 2 nights on our return before flying home to the UK from Cairns. The rooms were very clean and all the staff very friendly. The location was great being a short walk along the esplanade into the town and bars and restaurants. The bus stop almost outside was a cheap way to explore the northern beaches and the botanical gardens. The staff were extremely helpful with advising and booking excursions for us. The inclusive breakfast was a bonus and also the airport transfers. I would definitely recommend this small good value hotel for a short stay in Cairns.

Room Tip: The fact that there was no lift did not affect us. Our first room was on the second floor at the rea...
