My wife and I travelled here in 2004 and thought we would give it ago again. Check in was efficient and the male check in staff member was very friendly. The room was basic but clean, and met everything we expected for the price. TV had good reception and the air con worked well. The only down side was that the shower flooded the the bathroom each time we used the shower but still the water was hot the pressure good. The complimentary breakfast was simple but filling and free. The complimentary shuttle to the airport was also a bonus. We will return.

The hotel has a small and clean bedroom. However the aircon was fixed and you could not change the temperature. Has a Bible in the night table (!) and the breakfast was very poor, not even fresh fruit. You have to pay for some eggs and when we tried to, they said the kitchen was already closed and was just 9am of a Saturday!
The reception closes at 7pm. The last day we left our luggages for the day and almost couldn't picked them up because they were closing.
The hotel was 20 minutes walking from the city centre.
It was OK but too many rules. Seems to be run by church women and made me feel like a school trip. Not so bad for the price though.

The hotel is 10 minutes walking to the Esplanade, near shopping centre, restaurants and busses stop.
Conditions of the bedroom and hotel are excellent, with a reasonably sized swimming pool, always clean. And outdoor space with tables and stove designed for guests who wish to have lunch / dinner in the garden.
The staff always friendly and respectable.

Room Tip: Rooms to the garden are quieter

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights from the 4th of June to the 7th for our 25th wedding anniversary. Sarah picked us up in the courtesy bus from the airport and was friendly and helpful. The rooms arent big but are contempory and clean. The bathroom was a good size and also clean and fairly modern. It is a 20 min enjoyable walk to the Esplanade. The continental breakfast is simple but great and makes the day's start easy.
I shopped around a fair bit on the net and found Queens Court Hotel to be the best value and i would definately stay again.

Great little hotel! The room was on the smaller side but had every I needed. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean and well kept. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was a great inclusion in the price. The hotel is located about a 15 minute walk from the CBD and attractions which during the day is fine, however during the evening it can be tricky if you are going out for dinner (which you need to because the hotel does not have a restaurant). I did walk into the CBD after dark twice without incident. Overall am VERY happy with this hotel and will definately return! Thank you for making my first trip to Cairns such a great one!

maybe there could be some other options close to the main attractions - the hotel is maybe 20-minute walking from it - but the very kind staff made me feel glad about my choice! the rooms are simple, with very good prices - with continental breakfast included.

for a short stay, I guess it could be a great choice. If not, try one hotel close to the harbor and the restaurants.

On a recent holiday in Cairns I stayed at Queens Court Cairns. I found the staff absolutely wonderful! They were not only very efficient at their job, they also took the time to get to know the needs of all of their guests. The rooms were very clean and pleasant and the buffet breakfast was both yummy and generous. Lashings of cereal fruit toast (conjee for the overseas visitors) were free and I can vouch for the scrambled eggs! There was no restaurant on the premises, but B-B-Q packs were available for purchase to cook on their barbie. The position was a tiny bit out of the main center of Cairns, but within walking distance. My only criticisms are as follows: it would have been nice to have a hand with lumping luggage upstairs to my room (or a lift) and there was a slight smell of sewerage when the wind wafted every now and then. Of course there had been a lot of rain and it may have been the drains. I struck very bad weather during my stay, but again, the staff were wonderful and the accommodation was clean and comfy. Annie

Room Tip: I suggest you try to book a room on the ground floor.
