“Nice Room, pity about the noise though”
Reviewed 15 July 2013

Our Jasmine Deluxe Room was very modern and nice. I wished I checked the reviews here first though - we stayed for three nights and had the same cups the whole time. The shower was very luxurious. Being the last place we stayed on a 10 day holiday, I was disappointed at how noisy the place was. The doors to each room slam shut automatically, and the polished concrete hallways are very nice, but just enhance and echo and noise. A lot of high school groups/young adults were staying at the time and even though some groups tried to be quiet, others were so noisy sliding over the polished concrete at all hours. I couldn't wait to get out of there each day and tried to draw out our day's activity so that we wouldn't be there for very long. Nice room, but won't stay there again.

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel, the staff were really friendly and informative especially Stani who booked our local trips and made sure we have everything we needed.
The only thing I would say is that it was noisey when people were coming in and out of rooms as doors really slam shut.
But all in all I would recommend this hotel as it was in a nice area just far enough out of town to enjoy the walk in.

Room Tip: I would choose a 2nd floor room at front of hotel

We had a 2 bedroom apartment in the building at the back of the hotel. The room was very dated. The main bedroom was very small and to open the drawers you had to close the door. The fan in the bathroom didn't work so drying yourself after a shower was impossible. There was a dodgy power point in the kitchen and second bedroom - DANGEROUS! The curtains in the living area had been cut off half way down, messily with a pair of scissors. The lounge chairs were cane with very thin cushions and very uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time. There were several nights where we were woken by drunken hooligans staying in the rooms above, with furniture being dragged around, bottles being dropped on the floor, shouting and yahooing. The hotel is quite close to the airport and therefore on the flight path so noisy jets taking off regularly. The only thing that I can say that is positive is that the reception staff were reasonably friendly.

Hi Beth L

Thank you for your feedback. As you mention our staff are friendly and that
certainly means approachable, our reception staff and duty manager being
available 24 hours a day. Therefore, it is extremely disappointing that we
were not allowed the opportunity to address your concerns and to provide a
satisfactory outcome whilst you stayed at the hotel.

We hope that overall you enjoyed Cairns City and it's wonderful surroundings
of reef & rainforest.

Yours sincerely

Booked this hotel as a rest stop after a early morning flight. Pleasant hotel and great staff. Allowed us to check in at 5am. Room was immaculate and all amenities were fabulous. Bed was super comfortable. Nice pillows. Fan and air con so you have a choice of which you prefer. Tv was good. Lots of channels. It's close to a bottle shop and local food mart. Also Pizza Hut. Only negative is it quite far out of town. Maybe a 20 minute walk. But this wasn't an issue for me, just though I would mention this in case you don't fancy a walk. All in all had a nice couple of days here. Breakfast was decent. The pool is nice. Good value for your money in my opinion.

Really nice little hotel. The staff on check in went out of there way to show us where everything in the neibourhood we might need (local shop, bottle shop, etc etc) was and gave us a map. Nice walk into town and restaurants etc nearby. Washing machines and dryers on site which I liked. My only letdown was breakfast. I know from a previous comment here that the hotel sees this as free but we felt it was included in the price and were surprised when we found that the breakfast in the photos was not in fact the free breakfast which consisted of cereal and toast with tea or coffee. I would not have minded at all if this was clear beforehand as the room price was very good but I felt they let themselves down by not making this known and I know we weren't the only ones a but taken aback by it. Having said that I would certainly stay again as everything else was really nice. They even said that on the day of checkout we could leave our bags there and have a shower before heading to the airport.

I think it is quite good value for money and I was quite pleased until the early morning when all the noise woke me up. Doors are incredibly loud, close with a really loud bang, theres also quite a big space between the doors and the floor so you hear absolutely everything that is going on in the corridor, noise from the cafeteria was annoying and bathroom also kept on making weird noises every now and then. I woke up feeling tired and frustrated! Room was clean and spacious and had everything we needed, I did find few long black hairs from the bathroom. Tv reception was BAD. It was impossible to watch tv. Internet reception was BAD-expensive and only worked half of the time. I bought an hour (6 aud) and I was forced to use it all in one go because that is how it works there and it kept on logging me out so half of the time was wasted on trying to make it work again. We booked a room with a breakfast but when we went to have it they informed us that its light breakfast so we were very disappointed with boring cereal, milk and toast, instead of eggs and bacon. If you need a cheap place to stay might be ok but if you really need to rest I wouldnt recommend it.

We thank you for your comments your personal opinion is important to us. We are working hard to constantly improve the quality of facilities and service. With the Jasmine Hotel Room we provide complimentary light breakfast, I’m surprised to hear something for free would have been disappointing? There is a low cost option available to upgrade from light to continental or full breakfast. Regarding internet, this is provided by an external company that has a free call number which is printed on the voucher you received and they promptly resolve any issue to the guests satisfaction. Regard, Hotel Management

Good accomodartion , one block from the water front line ! The beach is not in use due to crocodiles but you can walk all the way long to town beside the water, looking incredibles birds flying around it.

The Ibiscus suite was incredible big for both of us and there were plenty of kitchen items to use .

There were two nice pools , one with rocks and the other with tiles , near the barbecue place.

We¨d got a balcony and a big terrace too just above the garden . Safety and clean , and comfortable .

A nice boy at the reception who helped us to choose tours and transfers . And a sweet brunette hair girl who gave us many indications to get food and transfers.

It was as if we were home in Queensland !
