We stayed at Bay Village for three nights during our trip in cairns, we found the hotel very pleasant, inexpensive, nice clean rooms, friendly helpful staff, and a fantastic restaurant. We were surprised with the standard for a 3.5 star hotel, and found it an ideal place to be located to do all the tours in the surrounding areas. We had a pick up from the hotel with every tour we booked at reception, and it is only a 15 min. walk to the pier along the waterfront esplanade. We certaibnly would stay there again, thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.

This was a good place for the money. We were on a budget and I didn't want to spend a ton on hotels since we were doing so much sightseeing and would only be sleeping there but that backfired on me in Brisbane and Sydney. This was a good location, not a bad walk to the esplanade and downtown. It was quiet, had a very nice staff and the room for four was spacious. It only had a small pool but we didn't need one so that was ok for us.

Free pick up and drop off at airport by pleasant staff. Staff was very helpful with information and recommendations. Nice room with fridge, laundry on site nice since we were traveling for 3 weeks. Would like to be closer to marina and main strip but easy 10-15 minute walk there. Plenty of counter and storage space.

My friend and I stayed in a twin room and were very impressed by the great service, friendliness and quality of accommodation. It was exceptional value for money and I would recommend it. The hotel was busy but that did not interfere with the good service. It is about a 15 minute walk to town but close to the Esplanade so a pleasant walk. It is one of the best budget hotels I have stayed at in the world, and i have done a fair bit of travelling. I booked it with Virgin Holidays as a package deal and would stay there again. My only complaint is being charged for a pool towel (only $1 but I could have used the bath towel). The restaurant is worth a visit - lovely fresh food.

We stayed with our family in the apartments in April, huge space bigger than our flat in the UK, the staff was very friendly and helped us to organize all the tours, the rooms were very clean and well maintaned. We had a very good package from our Travelagent back home, and felt very confortable at Bay Village.Continetal Breakfast was sufficent enough and for only eight dollars you could upgrade to a full breakfast and order anything of the menu. The Kids loved the pool and we loved the Balinese Restaurant were we dined several evenings. Overall we had a fantastic stay and the free airport shuttle was another costsaving we took advantage of. We are planning already our next holiday to Cairns and would definetly stay here again.

We stayed here after getting a deal through Flybuys but never would again even with the discount it was not good value for money.

The hotel is promoted as being landscaped, green and cool however in reality they have bought an apartment building opposite the original complex which is where we were located. This block has no trees, is completely concreted and sterile and means you have to cross the road to book tours, eat at the restaurant and in our instance, use the resort pool, since the small one across the road was closed for maintenance. There was no children's Austar channel available, despite this being advised and when a call was made regarding this it was not returned. It is also very noisy in the mornings since it is on a corner opposite a school and facing a busy road. This however would not be the case if you stayed in the main complex.

On top of this there was a Duty Manager who was ridiculous wishing to charge us $75 for towels that were in her opinion stained. I argued my case against this, gave them a cycle in the visitor laundry and they came out perfectly clean. Still she insisted on charging me $15 for a bathmat, really I think just to save face. Not a nice finale to a disappointing stay.

The restaurant however is quite good.

stayed here for 3 nights in june school holidays so it wasnt cheap but the room was nice and staff were quite friendly ,free airport shuttle was good and prompt . i was surprised that we had to book and pay at arrival if we wanted the full buffet breakfast for our stay , we did buy breakfast for 2 mornings and were very sorry as it was terrible , first day we where told "oh were only doing continental breakfast today" after I protested that we had all paid for full cooked they reluctantly told us to sit and later brought out a little bit of dried up bacopn that was obviously warmed up leftovers and some warmed up scrambled eggs on 4 plates ,very little bread was put out and the juices were empty and only orange was refilled after another request . the next morning was not much better . however the biggest downer was when my sons wallet went missing after the room was cleaned and management showed little to no concern wireless internet connection in the lobby was expensive and slowww.
