We joined a day tour from Port Douglas to visit the local Habitat, then go up to Cape Tribulation. It is a long journey over a winding road, and rather uncomfortable with all the swinging and swaying of the bus. Lunch at Cape Tribulation was okay, the usual "something" salad and chips. This was followed by a one hour boardwalk tour through a part of the rain forest - the technical information given was interesting but too detailed.
The one hour boat trip on the Daintree River was interesting, especially as there were several large and small crocodiles sunning themselves.
A long day for very little.

Cape Trib connections is a very user friendly tour. The guides are very knowledgable in their field and seem to wholeheartedly enjoy their work. They are very patient and understanding, having clearly spent time working with children and people who speak english as a second language.

The tour in itself takes you north into the Daintree rainforest, over the cable ferry where you will do a bit of bush walking and receive some commentary on the rainforest itself. You'll learn about some different types of plantation, insects, be shown some examples, and with a spot of luck, might even see a Casowary. You then make your way to Cape trib beach for an hour or so to endulge in a spot of lunch before starting the return leg.

The return leg takes you on an hour long crocodile spotting cruise on the Daintree river, a visit to the amazing Daintree Icecream palour where you'll sample the icecream of the day. Lastly you'll pay a visit to the scenic mossoman gorge and get to take a dip (if you remember your swimmers). A final bit of 'celebrity spotting' through Port Douglas and you'll be dropped back to Cairns around 7pm.

As you can see from this, you really do get to do a lot in one day which is awesome but it can feel like a lot of time in the bus. If you are planning to go up to 'Cape Trib' I would strongly recommend taking the option where you stay over night. You can effectively choose to split this tour up over two days, take advantage of the choice of accomodation and choose a jungle activity for your free time.

Last week my wife and I went on the Cape Tribulation Day Tour. The trip was excellent and we had a great experience. The main reason for this was our wonderful guide George. He was welcoming, funny and very knowledgeable concerning the area. All aspects of the day were enjoyable and make sure to have a cup of the delicious Daintree icecream.

This tour offered excellent value for money, and managed to cover a fair bit of ground pack in a lot of sights. The stops were well spaced, you never felt like you were on the bus for too long, and the amount of time spent at each place was just perfect too. Peter our guide, was excellent: very knowledgeable and entertaining as well. (Does a good David Attenborough impersonation) Seeing a cassowary crossing the road, and Scar Face the Crocadile when we were on the river cruise component of the tour, were extra bonuses to a wonderful day.

I was on a day trip to Cape Tribulation with Cape trib Connections - we stopped at a lot of places and it was really cool. Cape trib beach was nice and Mossman Gorge was SO beautiful. The crocodile cruise was exciting and informative, we saw both baby crocs and some bigger ones. Our guide George was a wonderful man- he was super fun and had a lot of stories, he knew everything about the rainforest and the areas we were in. This was probably one of the best trips I did during my east coast travels! Really worth the money considering all you get to see in one day.
