If you love. slow trains and forest scenery then I would recommend this. But for me, it was rather boring.

Beautiful in one word. Lovely scenery with a Riverview down into a town. Could see the front of the train when in the carriage. Great stops to see waterfalls and the greenery on one word worth the trip.

We got picked up from our accommodation to arrive at the train station with a guided tour on the way. Beautiful train and an interesting journey to Kuranda. Worth the money to go and see

We caught the train up to kuranda, the commentary was really interesting, was a bit disappointing that most people didn’t sit in their seats but stood up in the isles so getting photos was abit of an issue.
We walked a short walk to town for breakky and highly recommend Mandala cafe was dlish. Went to the butterfly world which was really lovely to see and also went for a short rainforest walk before heading back to the skyrail gondola for the trip back to cairns. The skyrail was so amazing, the views were spectacular and loved seeing the top of the rainforest canopy. You can get off a couple times as well for a great view of the barron falls.

Had such high expectations as I remember this train ride when I was a teenager
Unfortunately we were sat on bench seats facing each other with a family of 6 so very tight, hot and uncomfortable and the toddler kept kicking me as it threw tantrums.
Would highly recommend GOLD CLASS wish I had paid the extra money
Kuranda itself is full of touristy crap made in China and I couldn’t wait to leave
Enjoyed the sky rail back down much more
