Have wanted to try this place for a while and we had a Table 52 card so decided to head out for a mid-week dinner. It's a great location overlooking the esplanade, and the restaurant itself is nice and creates a good ambience.. It stops there unfortunately, as we viewed the menu and we're faced with significantly expensive dishes - $20 entrees, $30-$39 mains; pretty pricey for thai food. We shared an entree of prawns - 4 tiny prawns wrapped in rice paper and deep fried. $19?! We waited Hungry for our mains, and were disappointed when received. They tasted decent enough, but portion sizes and execution let it down. The grilled chicken came out with a side of mesclun lettuce and a portion of rice the size of a teacup. The roast duck was a let down for me, as the meat had been pre-cooked and simply thrown into a watery red curry sauce - with tinned lychees.. Very disappointing... Service was good, but there were only 4 tables so you'd expect attentive staff.. For a dinner close to $100 we were left wondering why we didn't just go to our favourite thai haunt - where prices are cheaper, food is flavoursome and cooked with love, and our pockets would be $50 heavier. Always love shelling out for a good thai experience, but sadly our expectations weren't met.
