Description: The Cafe Fika is the coffee shop baking and creating the true genuine flavours of Sweden with help of imported and local ingredients. We bake cinnamon scrolls, semlor, princess cakes, mazariner, chocolate/espresso balls and a wide range of Swedish Pastries, some daily and some vary from day to day, we also take pre orders for cakes and pastries for dinner party and functions. The menu are available all day and kept as Swedish as we possibly can. You can enjoy everything from fresh crispy waffles with cloudberry jam, classic dishes as Toast Skagen (dill& prawn mix) Meatball sandwiches or more filling a Swedish style cooked roast beef and potato salad. We dill cure our own salmon and serve it with the classic dill & mustard sauce and we serve fresh salads with cold smoked salmon that melts in your mouth, simply something Swedish for every tastebud!

“It doesn't get much better!”

I discovered Cafe Fika on a recent holiday to Cairns and cannot recommend it highly enough! Not only are the prices excellent, the food is delicious and authentic, the staff welcoming, and the setting friendly and cheerful. I have never read a friendlier menu, and appreciated how coffees can even be ordered with different milks (lactose-free, almond and many others) for no extra charge. I don't think you could go wrong, whatever you order! Thank you, Maria and team.

“A little Nordic Spot in the Tropics”
Reviewed 29 December 2013

Authentic setting, authentic food (except for the Swedish Gravox - come on guys, make your own gravy), for a Scandinavian and nice trip down memory lane and a time to savour the things you grew up with.. Hope to see you in business for years to come..

“Early morning breakfast”
Reviewed 10 November 2013

My daughter and I met at the cafe for breakast at 6.30am. We were greeted by extremely welcoming staff and had a lovely traditional Swedish breakfast of gingerbread muesli, crispbread with caviar paste and sliced boiled egg and unlimited cups of Fika ( filter coffee) and fruit juice for a mere $15. ( they actually allowed us to share this and we just paid an extra $3.50 for another coffee)

We sat inside at a cute table for two bedecked with a cherry motif tablecloth. there is also a big communal table with cookbooks and other coffee table books to read. Next time we will have a look at the deli foods that you can buy there.

Next time that we come we will bring our books so that we can partake in the book exchange and taste the lovely looking cloudberry cookies!

“A taste of Scandinavia - highly recommended”
Reviewed 12 June 2013

I have been wanting to try Cafe Fika ever since I heard the advertisement on the radio. I visited Sweden about 8 years ago and loved the people and the food, so was keen to try. On arrival at the Cafe we were greeted by the bubbly & welcoming Maria and she explained her shop and the menu. We were keen to try the Swedish meat balls and also the roast beef open sandwich. The meatballs with the accompanying beetroot salad was our favourite of the mains. Had to try the 'Fika' (filtered coffee) seeing we were at Cafe Fika! $3.50 a cup which included a free refill. Can't beat that. To top off the lovely brunch we had to try the waffles. They were served with cream and Cloudberry jam. Wonderful waffles! We enjoyed our visit to Cafe Fika and will definitely be back.
