Essentially a renovated motel, it retains its low-rise, low-rent vibe. It has lovely touches such as plantation louvres and an open plan reception which hands out keys to Smart cars on certain packages. On the other hand, there's old fashioned fixtures such as '70s style shower in bath and toilets as well as an overpowering room deodoriser. The room layout and size is decidedly motel.
Now here's the thing...this is what really disappointed us and cost us cold hard cash. The website says (at least in JUN 2013) that the restaurant is open for breakfast until 10am on Sundays. Reasonable time right? Apparently not. The keys might as well have been thrown at us at check-in. There was no effort to explain anything about the place in particular about breakfast venue or time. As such we were ignorant that breakfast indeed closes at 9am...who would have thought?
After trudging down to the waterfront and paying for our own breakfast, we came back and politely requested a refund. The receptionist couldn't care less and indeed started to argue.
So be wary. Customer service is not the property's forte. Other than that the place is okay...nothing to write home about. The location is passable but there are more centrally located hotels.
