We ended our group trour at the Hotel Cairns. It was a strangeley designed hotel in that it had a small reception area and that access to the lift was up a short set of stairs unless you went to the basement. Checking in as a group meant that it took ages to access our room as the lift only accommodated about 4 people and their luggage. the restaurant was set aside from the main hotel. The room was clean and adequate. The buffet breakfast in the restaurant was excellent.

I stayed at the hotel cairns whilst traveling for work. From my arrival at reception the staff were rude, obnoxious and basically treated me like I was a bother. The rooms were okay, although the bathroom was filthy and as previously mentioned by other reviewers, the blinds on the windows offered no privacy whatsoever. The rooms were also very very noisy with thin walls and a lot of noise traveling up from the street.

So yourself a favor and stay at one of the many other GOOD hotels in cairns.

This hotel is quite unusual in so far as it is neither a Hotel or a Motel but somewhere between. The reception area is fine but it is not palatial & does not have a lounge only an outside seating area & a couple of saets at the internet area. There is a small pool & the hotel does provide pool towels, if you are going to the reef take these with you as there are no towels provided on the trip.
The rooms are a good size & clean, the bed is very comfortable & you do get a good nights sleep. The strange thing about the room is that there are no curtains only slatted shutters but once you get used to them it is fine. The reataurant is good food but on the expensive side as are the drinks, go into town which is only a short walk away to get better value. However if I had to stay there again I certainly would.

We have stayed here a few times with the locals $100 deal.

The staff are friendly from the time you make the reservation to the tine you leave.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. The main attraction to the hotel is their Plantation Restaurant. The food is to die for, especially the pork belly and scallop entre!

The only downside is their pool which feels like it is the middle of the car park, but the positives far outway this.

Stayted at the Hotel Cairns for one night for business. This is a botique hotel located within walking distance to the Cairns CBD. It has a very friendly atmosphere and a tropical feel. There is plenty of car parking space or street parking. There are only two floors and rooms are reasonable size. Simple but elegant. The only slightly negative comment I have is that all the rooms have wooden shutters that do not close competely. So people who walk along the hallway can peak into the room.

It is a well run hotel and I really enjoy staying here. Wll come back again.
