Unmatched, the environmentally sensitive tours deliver places where time simply ‘stands still’. After being collected by our tour guide Ben in a comfortable minivan - it even had appropriate look alike timber flooring!! from our accommodation, we spent a fantastic day. Our first stop was at Mossman Gorge where we were able to follow the boardwalks through the rain forest to the river, We continued our journey further into the Daintree World Heritage Rainforest, crossing the Daintree River by ferry, stopping at Alexandra Lookout for breathtaking views and continuing on to Cape Tribulation where we able to walk through the forest to the beach. Morning tea was provided beachside, then our journey continued to Cooper Creek where we boarded a 45 minute boat trip and with our expert crocodile spotter at the helm, we criss-crossed the creek hoping to see a croc or two along the way. While we saw various birdlife, mangroves, and more views of the rainforest, and with time running out for our return, we thought we were going to miss out - but barely visible under the mangroves, the experienced eye of our guide was able to show us a female croc and guided the boat around so everyone could take photos - even though it made us back late to continue on with the day. Lunch followed at a local outdoor restaurant, a stop at Tropical Fruit Icecream shop, return ferry trip over the Daintree River. Ben gave a very informative commentary all day, chatted to everyone throughout the day, was happy to answer questions and it even made his day when a rarely seen cassowary caused a traffic jam! Very enjoyable day and worthwhile trip.

On my first visit to Port Douglas, I was very keen to do the day trip to Cape Tribulation in the world heritage listed Daintree Rainforest. I considered doing a self-drive trip but decided I would get more out of the day by travelling with an experienced guide. I travelled with Daintree Tours in a very comfortable mini-bus handled expertly by our guide.
We stopped at Mossman Gorge , followed by a number of forest walks where we were able to view the trees, vines and bushes making up the rain forest.
At Cape Tribulation we wandered on to the beach and had a close up encounter with a local goanna. A lunch at a local resort was included and a bonus was a rare sighting of a cassowary close to the resort. On the return trip, we stopped for a small boat cruise on Cooper Creek to check out the resident crocodiles. We found 4 salties and watched as they cruised along the mangrove trees.
Our guide had an excellent knowledge of the trees, animals and history of the area and added considerably to our knowledge of rainforest fauna and flora. We were dropped back to or apartment after an outstanding day trip.

Our driver, Kerry, was great. Like others have said, he knew all our names, engaged each of us in the conversation, and had heaps of little stories and anecdotes to fill the drive times. We took a hike through the rainforest, had morning tea at Cape Tribulation, went up the creek successfully searching for crocs (something that's apparently difficult to do this time of year), had lunch at a beautiful restaurant in the middle of the rainforest, went for ice cream, took a stop at a beautiful site high up and overlooking the river's outlet to the sea (see pic), and went swimming at Mossman Gorge! So much more than I anticipated! It was a long day, but worth every moment!

Our driver, Kerry, was really knowledgeable, friendly but not over the top. Seven of us on the trip and he involved us all in conversation. We visited Cape Tribulation, Mossman gorge, had lunch at a resort in the rain forest, walked in the rain forest, went up a creek and saw two big crocs. Ths trip was great value - full day 7.30 to 5pm.

This was the second tour I had booked with Tropical Journeys, the first being Sail and Snorkel on the Aquarius to the Low Isles. I was given a $20.00 discount for booking both tours at the same time - $10.00 off each and much appreciated. I did the Daintree Rainforest & Cape Tribulation tour, a full-day tour. Kerry was our guide and driver for the day and was great. Very knowledgeable and a lovely guy. We took in the Daintree with the short ferry river crossing, rainforest walk, a short cruise sighting crocodiles on Cooper Creek and the beautiful Cape Tribulation, stopping at Mossman Gorge on the way back. Such a beautiful part of Far North Queensland. Kerry "managed" to get us several cassowary sightings (doesn't always happen), several lizards, a tree frog and several crocs. A lovely lunch was included (barramundi) at a small rainforest resort finishing with some Daintree Ice Cream. Small group which was great with lovely fellow travellers. A great enjoyable day.
