And onto trip advisor...
We just came back from 4 days diving... I'm writing it down while it's fresh in my mind, and still excited!
We started planning this trip months ago, unlike our last visit as backpackers where we turned up in PD and bought a dive trip on the day, I researched this very thoroughly on the internet (didn't exist last time!) and from the moment of our first enquiry blue dive were brilliant at delivering the best trip for us, helping us with accommodation as well (Nautilus, very good by the way). . They were not even fazed when we unpicked it all a few months later and started again with different dates. We are 2 adults needing a refresher course and 2 teens with a Padi referral. We started on Poisiden for 2 days diving with Jenny our instructor, much has been written about Jenny here, all of it true, I couldn't praise her highly enough, she is professional, fun, enthusiastic, knowledgable and very engaging with our 2 boys. The two days were quite tiring, enjoyable of course, the boat was busy but we found our own space and Jenny coaxed our boys through everything and soon they were certified divers and we ourselves were back up to speed. We saw plenty on Agincourt reef, but after a one day rest we took off again from port douglas with blue dive again for our overnight safari in REEFCoNnections beautiful boat, with skipper Emily. There were 2 groups, plenty of room, wonderful food and of course amazing diving at tongue reef and opal reef. These guys (jenny and dave) know these reefs so well, we had 7 dives and every one unique and well briefed in advance. The most amazing coral gardens, I will never ever forget. We found sharks, turtles, rays, sting rays.. All sorts of fish from Nemos, to barracudas... Back on board we had time to identify everything we had seen, Jenny was a mountain of knowledge and never stopped giving it out. Awesome, (word I picked up from jenny..!). Such enjoyment in watching our boys amazement as a whole new world opened up to them. We swam at night, at dawn, and the last day we had drift dives, tipping into the ocean off the tender.. through coral gardens teeming with fish... Amazing. We felt we had used every moment of our time to full advantage. Having come such a long way and planned for long I really feel all my expectations were not only met but exceeded in every way. THANK YOU BLUE DIVE. Thank you staff at reef connections and Thank you jenny who made our trip so memorable..
