“Wonderful home close to the beach”

We spent 5 days with another couple at Sun&Moon 2. From the time we made the booking we were made to feel at home and that is the one word that sums it up - HOME. From the minute you walk in it is very homely and very stylishly furnished. The kitchen is well equipped although we did use the BBQ more often. The beds are firm but comfortable. The location is stunning and the views just great. There was never a dull moment with the passing people traffic it is well secluded and just 100 meters away from the beach - we did not even have to take a towel. The fresh water shower on the veranda was a bonus since the public fresh water shower is just meters away. The only downside was the party revelers on Saturday evening! We had a wonderful stay and we hope to visit again in the not too distant future.

“A little piece of heaven”

We stayed in this 3 bedroom villa for one week and had the time of our lives. It had everything we needed to make our stay feel "our home away from home." The position is the best in town with views of the beach and the many restaurants within walking distance "just down the road. " Even though it was Carnival time the position is quiet and we could enjoy the peace and serenity of the area.

We would love to return as soon as time permits and would look no further to stay again at Sun and Moon.
Thank you Mouse for making our stay so enjoyable
John and Sue

“What a find!”

I chose this accommodation for our family of 6 after reading many reviews of many different places to stay in Port Douglas. The reviews of sun&moon2 were so consistently positive and all I can add to them is to say - They're true! What a find!
We had such a lovely stay of 8 nights and loved every minute of it. The contact between the lovely owner before we arrived who was great for advice about local tours, the welcoming food for when we first arrived after a very early start, the basic supplies of everyday needs, the extra supply of towels... all the things that made the holiday stress free and the accommodation a home away from home.
We loved the way the townhouse was decorated - such a personal touch that gave it so much warmth, as opposed to 'yet another hotel room'. We enjoyed the BBQ, the comfy beds, the huge window openings to allow that sea breeze in, the cushions for benches and sun lounges, plenty of cutlery/plates/glasses/mugs, cooking utensils etc.
Most of all we loved the location - we didn't see anywhere else that had such a good position for the view, the beach and the shops. We felt like locals.
What more can I say? It's the vibe of the place!

“Perfect Location”

This is a great holiday rental, not super flash but modern, functional and well equipped. Small touches like condiments, cleaning liquid etc means you don't have to stock up. Two great bedrooms on the front with seaview and a cosy one on the back. Location is the main asset of the property, perfectly placed for the beach, near the nets for the swimming and very close to all the restaurants. We will be back.

“Perfect Condo/House at the Beach in lovely Port Douglas”
Reviewed 1 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

Sun and Moon 2 House is a wonderful place to stay in charming Port Douglas to enjoy the Great Barrier Reef and Rainforest. The House was clean, comfortable, well appointed, with a large kitchen stocked with tea/coffee/condiments and fruit to welcome us and give us a start on meals. We shopped at the Cole's grocery a few blocks away and were able to have breakfast and quick sandwiches 'at home' after a tiring day of diving or touring. The lovely town of Port Douglas has excellent restaurants all within walking distance of a few blocks. The house has a view of 4 Mile Beach which is right out the front door. The pictures are very accurate. It is a great place to stay and we saw NO other accommodations we would have liked as well. The owner was responsive and helpful. We were glad to have a washer/dryer with washing powder provided in a tiled room with beach towels and a shower for coming in off the beach. Pretty little parking bay behind the house among palms and flowers for our rental car.

“Perfect Location”

We've come to Port Douglas many times and tried different accommodation each time. We no longer need to search for the ideal place to stay, as we will be back here due to it's perfect location.

Not right on the beach, Julan park is in front (and a small carpark, but that empties out once the sun goes down so you don't feel like you're "on display"!) The sea breeze is great, no need to put on the aircon and the sound of the waves at night is lovely.

You can be on the beach in 20 seconds or shopping in Macrossan Street in minutes. The kids swapped between beach and the pool (not heated, but they didn't seem to mind!) to playing cricket or badminton on the lawn out the front.

On arrival, the fridge was stocked with cold milk and on the table a basket of fresh fruit and a loaf of bread, which made for a great welcome. The owner "Mouse" is such a lovely lady and ensured our stay was enjoyable.

The only thing I would change is an upgrade of the BBQ (for those who love to BBQ the Webber Q is a bit tiny and doesn't get hot enough!) and put it on the terrace rather than in the carport out the back so you can cook while enjoying the view!

I would not recommend the apartment if you have small children as there's no fenced off garden area to "contain them", 5 up it is perfect.

“The BEST possible place to be in Port Douglas”
Reviewed 3 February 2013 for a stay in July 2012

Reviewing this place a bit late, but had to do it as this was a place we are actually craving to go back to. We travelled to Port Douglas in July 2012 for our dream dive vacation. We are a family of five (three kids). The place is what it says "on the beach" and oh just so well located, near every thing. We usually like to take a rental as it is always so much easier with the kids.

Most importantly the owner is the sweetest most helpful person, she went out of her way to accommodate our every need from maid service to wifi requirements. Then the place is so thoughtfully equipped and beautifully decorated. It literally felt like a home away from home and yet set in a beautiful place. Loved the thoughtful touches of having tea and coffee waiting for us on arrival, the books, the beach loungers and the extra towels. Then the main town and every possible restaurant shop was within 5 minutes of walking distance. The beautiful patin on the beach was where we ate most of our meals. The grill was fun as we got to barbecue.

I cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Port Douglas, it is a true find not to be missed at any cost.
