“Great food with spectacular view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 August 2014 via mobile

Really tasty food - better than expected as resort food can sometimes be quite bland. Call ahead and ask about the specials. All the tables have a spectacular view tucked into the tree tops of the forest overlooking the ocean below, but try to get the table in the middle or right side at the front as the views are amazing. I'd also book an early (6:30 - 7:00pm) sitting as you'll be treated to a great sunset. Truly memorable dinning experience created by a combination of delightful birdsong, gently rusting trees and fresh lovely flavourful food. Enjoy.

“Very disappointing!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 August 2014

We decided to book lunch at Osprey's to celebrate a significant birthday. The valet parking was a pleasant bonus, the view was beautiful, the staff were excellent, but sadly, the food was very disappointing and let the whole occasion down. I had the chicken in Indian butter sauce which, although tasty, consisted of very few pieces of chicken in rather a lot of sauce, but nothing to actually dip into the sauce to soak it up. My husband had the Manzo Tonnato for entree and some of the beef was slightly frozen in the centre, for main course he had the pork belly, which he said was luke warm, very stringy and was accompanied by vegetables in a tasteless type of broth. Unfortunately, the only enjoyable part of the whole meal was the desserts. We are happy to pay top dollars for quality food, but I'm sorry to say that in this instance, the quality of the food did not match the amount charged. Also, the wooden seats are not very comfortable if you wish to sit a while over your meal.

“The setting and views are fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2014 via mobile

We've only eaten in the lounge section of this restaurant but what a spectacular experience. It's worth going just to sit in the magnificent Thala Lodge and escape reality for an hour or too. The views and setting are so good that they could serve anything up to you and you would be happy; however they serve good food too so the experience is superb. This is a "bucket list"experience so make sure it's on your list! Go for breakfast,
lunch or afternoon tea so you can see the views.

“Spectacular views!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2014

This restaurant is part of the Thala Beach Eco Lodge (which looks like a great place to stay). It’s located at Oaks Beach, on a private road just south of Port Douglas.
It was a novelty for us to have a valet park our car when we arrived! We had had to book for our Sunday lunch but I would think weekday lunches would be a bit quieter.
The restaurant is in a lovely leafy setting, situated high amongst the rainforest & open-sided to catch the breezes – which makes for a restful tropical atmosphere.
Our waitress was attentive, friendly & efficient (thank you, Anne!); two of us we were able to alter the menu choices offered; & the food was spot-on!
The mains cost approx. $30. This is an ideal spot for that special occasion.

“A breakfast experience to remember”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2014 via mobile

The views are amazing, the service friendly and attentive, the food delicious. A reasonably expensive breakfast option but worth it for a treat and to enjoy lounging in the comfy chairs soaking up the atmosphere for as long as we wanted after we'd eaten. Using the chess board and wifi kept the family very happy too:)
