“Lovely Resort!”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

Great pool and outdoor restaurant with a very tropical/rain forest feel. The rooms are pretty good, good size. Check in and everything is open air, but its nice. Its not right on the beach, you have to walk a few blocks, but not bad. Restaurant is pretty good, but expensive, but they have specials like $20 steak night. Not much else around the area as far as restaurants/shops within walking distance, but there is a bus that comes every 15 minutes that will take you into town for $5. Overall, pretty good stay there. Didn't have hot water in the shower once night, but no other problems. Watch out for the bats! : )

Room Tip: try to get a room on the inside of the building with a view of the tropical pool. there are 4 differ...

Port Douglas is a little piece of relaxation! The Ramada was well staffed and we stayed in one of the newly refurbished rooms. Free wifi by the pool and at night they play chill out beats while you relax on pool lounges. Buses run out front so you can go into Port and grab dinner and a few drinks. Really relaxing resort with a great pool and swim up bar..def need a hire car though to go a do stuff...only thing was I thought the day spa was a bit too expensive for what it was..

First time my partner and I had visited this resort and it was wonderful! We stayed for a week and enjoyed every second. Although it is not close to the beach not many of the resorts were and so this did not affect our stay. You could walk to the beach from the resort through the bushes but we did not do this as it was not a part of the beach that you could swim in during stinger season. The resort facilities were great, we ate at the restaurant at the hotel and found it quite good. Room service was also used and bought to us promptly. The pool is amazing, we spent all our time in it as it was stinger season. Plenty of chairs to relax on. We had a two bedroom suite, the inside of the room was amazing, very clean and spacious. Our room had no view and looked onto the car park though which wasn't exactly perfect. Hotel was about 5-10 minutes from the main street of Port Douglas but we had a car so this did not bother us. The staff were all incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. Would recommend this resort to anyone.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that faces the pool area, not the carpark

Our room was very comfortable, clean and the kitchen was very well equipped. We were disappointed that we couldn't sit outside our room as there were no patios or balconies but we weren't far from the Treetops restaurant area where seating was provided beside the pool. This was also the Wi-fi area. The restaurant and lagoon pool area were pleasant however the exterior of the resort buildings could certainly do with an update. Staff were friendly and helpful. The resort is a long walk from the town centre, there is a shuttle bus but this would be expensive if frequently used. The cockatoo in reception was a great attraction for children!

Well presented resort 5mins drive from Port Douglas. Shuttle service is regular but @ $5 each way cost can mount up. (Tip: buy a 3 or 5 days trip pass, but make sure you can use it on all shuttles!) BBQ night was OK but steak night was V good, great steak & great value for money. Rooms are only serviced weekly (ie not at all on our visit of 6 days) so in the wet everything can get very damp. We enjoyed our stay here, very relaxed and very helpful professional staff.

It was terrible! Staff was not helpful. kitchen is not open late and when we asked where we can get food, they said "nowhere sorry". It was only 9pm. Apart from searching for someone. It's very hard to get a hold of anyone after 9pm. Breakfast was stail and manager was totally rude. Wifi was very difficult to get a hold of and the washer/dryer kept shutting get down. Besides the fact that they even charge a lot for shuttle service. Air conditioning kept shutting off and the place was full of mosquitoes. I will Never go back there again!

Had a perfect holiday at Ramada. Staff fantastic esp. Preetham Mikala Jason Stevie and others at the desk and wonderful service by Stef Jasper Bec Jason Laura Jack and Quinn in the restaurant. Prices reasonable esp daily specials and food beautiful. Room immaculate. Pool sensational. Foxtel was down for part of the holiday which was a little disappointing. Highly recommend a stay at the Ramada. We are planning our return already! Managers please pass on to third staff members the great job they're doing!
