The newly renovated Sheraton hotel has been reinvigorated and restored to its old self. A must stay when in Port Douglas. The 2 bedroom villas are spacious and well appointed... Always ask for the ones closer to the pool as their is a bit of a walk otherwise

Great hotel, stayed there many years ago and the hotel hasn't changed but the have upgraded the rooms and grounds. The front of house staff were great the wait staff at the pool weren't that great they were clearly travelers and didn't have the quality of service that the rest of the hotel did. The pools are great, and the whole place is very family friendly. My husband had a conference there and they did a great job juggling all of the hoilday goers and business people.

We dropped into the Sheraton Mirage to check out the new renovations & also to have coffee.

The new Reno looks pretty impressive as everything has been freshly painted white & the lobby reception area refurbished.

The swimming pools still look the same which were always superior regarding size & the lagoon fabulous for families. The only difference noted was the new cabanas which evidently set you back $100

Overall - although we didn't stay here but have preciously stayed numerous times the best aspect of the Sheraton Mirage is the beachfront location & the enormous swimming pools.

Having a car is a bonus but it's still walkable via the beach into town or catch a local shuttle bus which run regularly.

The Sheraton has had a facelift since I was last there. The bedrooms are now tastfully decorated and they have done a great job of making the whole place look more modern. It is a beautiful venue surrounded by lovely swimming pools.

However the customer service was terrible. On arrival I only had 40 mins to have lunch. I tried to order room service (a sandwich) but was told it would take 35 mins to come and would incur a $10 delivery fee (are they a fast food takeaway?!). I was advised to buy a pre made sandwich from the cafe in the lobby but when I got there they had sold out. I had to have a packet of crisps for lunch.

In the morning you can only order coffee from your dining table but they take ages to come and take the order from you. When I asked the barista why I couldn't order a coffee directly from him I was told it was easier for the staff so they know where you are sitting.....as long as its easier for the staff eh?! There are hundreds of cafés around the world that have solved this problem but not the Sheraton. As a result your coffee would often finally arrive substanially after you had finished breakfast. They even insisted on this when I was one of only two patrons in the restaurant (and the only female). I'm pretty certain at that stage they would have known the coffee was for me!! There are further examples but you get the drift....

So, if you want somewhere beautiful to relax in a great location but arent worried about customer service then this is the place for you!
