“Great location”
Reviewed 23 June 2014 via mobile

Stayed at Mantra Heritage for 5 nights with my husband and baby and had a great stay. It's in a great location in the main street next to Coles which is very convenient.
We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful.
The only things I didn't like were that our room was next to the lift and was quite noisy at night and we backed on to Warner St which had a delivery dock and it seemed like a garbage truck would pick up rubbish which was noisy in the mornings.
The 2 bedroom apartment was spacious and had everything we needed for 5 days! It was very clean in some areas ( kitchen & floors) but walls and doors had dirty marks that could easily be wiped off.
The pool and pool area was nice, you definitely didn't think you're were in the main Street of town.
We would happily stay here again!

We stayed for 3 nights and found the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and the spa bath on the balcony was a wonderful surprise. The young receptionist was knowledgeable about the area and the various trips on offer - we would definitely recommend this to our friends.

We stayed here in June 2014 and were allocated a swim up one bedroom apartment. We loved the convenience and flexibility this allowed considering our toddler loves splashing around. Unfortunately we only used the pool one afternoon as the weather was pretty uncooperative for the entire duration of our stay. The apartment was exactly what you would expect from a 4star facility. We would definitely return.

Room Tip: Definitely swim up option.

Hi, my husband and I stayed here for a week in May. The hotel is very well located, with walking distance to everything. We had a lovely room on the first floor with two balconies, one overlooking the pool and the other the hinterland. We had a very enjoyable stay here. We had some noisy neighbours in the room upstairs from us, and after two very unsettled nights we went to reception to see how much longer our 'noisy neighbours upstairs' would be staying. Once learning that they were staying there the entire time we were there Shelby from reception made not hesitation in moving us to an upgraded room on the other side of the resort. Staff were very friendly and helpful and would definitely stay here again.

One nice thing was the figi girl on reception was lovely, but unfortunately she was only there the first two days of our stay. The other five days the receptionist was not very friendly or welcoming and we avoided booking through the motel for day trips etc. Our room smelt like a wet dog every time we walked in. The pool was freezing. False advertising there. The spa took four hours to warm up and was still too cold to get into to. It says to contact reception if you want it turned up, but the phone only worked intimately. To be given only one set of towels for the week was foul. To top it off a fire alarm went of one day at 4.30am, when we rang to check if everything was ok, there was no apology. Next morning the alarm went off on Sunday morning at 8.00. Then we're told someone burnt there toast. Seriously loud alarm. On checkout the receptionist didn't even get off the phone, she just said your right to go. Pretty unhappy with customer service. Loved port Douglas and have stayed in many mantras....will not stay in this again.

Room Tip: Go elsewhere

Nice hotel, just a real pity that the pool is not heated. Advertising states it is but is most definitely not heated in any way. False advertising.

The rooms are beautiful, perfect. Very spacious.

The hotel grounds are lovely.

Cannot fault the service, lovely staff.

Location is perfect,

For us, we were looking for a hotel with a heated pool, so the false advertising is rather fustrating.

Stayed here for 3 nights during the Easter holidays. When we walked in our room, it was so huge we thought we had been upgraded! Large bedroom with nice comfy king size bed with a balcony looking out onto the pool as well as ensuite bathroom with huge spa bath.
The separate living room/kitchen area had a fold out couch, flat screen tv, full size fridge and plates/dishes/cutlery and another large balcony that looked out onto the street with mountains in the background.

The location was excellent, we took advantage of the lane way that leads right to Macrossan Street. The pool area was great with plenty of loungers available. Free secure basement parking was a nice bonus. Even had elevators from the car park to take you up to your hotel floor. Can't really find anything to fault the hotel, would definitely recommend!
