Have just stayed for 5 nights at the Peninsula Hotel and it is one of the best hotels I have stayed at around the world. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the location is perfect, by the beach and very close to the town centre.

After leaving the hotel emailed us to let us know we left some shoes behind, and where did we want them sent. I have stayed in hotels all over the world and never had them contact me about items left behind, it is always me that has to contact them.

I cannot rate this hotel highly enough, if there were more 10 stars available then they get my vote for this.

Many thanks for a fabulous start to our Australian trip.

Room Tip: A room with a sea view is best

We spent 6 nights here and would definitely go back again. Great location, the staff were brilliant. We stayed in one of the Coral spa suites and it was excellent, although we never ended up using the spa!

We spent 5 nights here and highly recommend it. We didn't receive cold towels on arrival but did receive ice water which was very welcome as we'd been for a dip in Mossman Gorge and we were feeling the heat. A special thank you to Jeila who was very patient answering my numerous emails prior to arrival & always greeted us with a smiling face.
Breakfast was yummy and location perfect. An easy walk into main street for dinner.

Room Tip: We stayed in an Ocean view room for 3 nights and had to move to a downstairs room for 2 nights. Both...

This hotel is very comfortable, and most (if not all) of the rooms have a view of the beach. The restaurant is surprisingly good, and the staff is very helpful. The hotel has laundry facilities available for free, which was a nice amenity that helped us avoid high laundry charges on our trip.

Arrived here for the last 4 nights of our 26 night holiday, in the dark, to be greeted with smiles, cold towels and iced water - very welcome. When we opened the blinds the following morning we were met with the most stunning view, through palm trees, to the ocean beyond. Our suite had every facility that you could wish for. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant overlooking the ocean and when the rain came (as it can there) we were moved to a table, under cover, overlooking the lovely pool. Service throughout our stay was unobtrusive, friendly and efficient. Breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice. The hotel is very well situated - close to 4 mile beach, the town and the harbour. We didn't want to leave!!

Room Tip: We stayed in a ground floor, ocean view suite. Lots of sun in the morning and a lovely patio area t...

The welcome was just right after a long flight and the heat of summer. The room was way above my expectations, and the design of the room made it very special. Everyone was so welcoming and nothing too much trouble. I loved the secret pool on level 1, especially as I had direct access from my room. Food good too! A short 2 minute walk from the rest of Port douglas, and right on the beach.

Room Tip: First floor on the beach side but facing the pool have a wee balcony with direct access to the pool...

Our 4 night experience at this hotel/motel was outstanding. The room facing the ocean was perfect and well maintained, superb staff who were so accommodating and the breakfast was excellent including the best and most delicious coffee. It was ideally located away from the center of town yet very near so that you could walk 10 to 15 minutes to the nearby restaurants/stores. The staff's recommendations of nearby restaurants only enhanced our visit. The night before we left, they provided us with a delicious breakfast which we ate prior to our departure at 5 A.M. Listening to the sounds of the ocean from our patio was magical!

Room Tip: Choose a top floor facing the ocean
