We enjoyed our stay here. On the plus side, the apartments are spacious - more than enough for 2 people - with large, smart bathrooms, a very comfortable bed and a wide choice of programs on the TV for sports fans. The view from our first floor ocean view room was pleasant - it's not directly on the sea but you can still see the ocean through the trees. The breakfast was plentiful, with a good choice of food and the chef cooked pancakes on request. The staff were helpful and friendly and very knowledgeable when it came to local tours. The free laundry was useful. The fridge had real coffee, fresh milk and cold water provided on arrival. The location is excellent - right by the netted off section of the beach by the lifeguards. On the negative side, very little to say. The furniture is cane and foam cushions so won't be to everyone's taste and wasn't the most comfortable. It was a bit more expensive than other places in Port Douglas in a similar location. The pool is on the small side and right next to the smallish breakfast area so if you like swimming in the early morning, you'll have an audience - or you will have to go to the sea! Other than that, it's hard to find any minus points. On a final note, the hotel is primarily couples oriented. If you have children under 16 you won't be able to stay as no children under 16 are allowed.

We received an upgrade to an ocean view suite and could not fault the room.
Very friendly service from owners (who were on reception) and we found that they were happy to help us with reef trips and had great local knowledge.
Would visit again for sure!

We had a wonderful 4 night stay here having spent a couple of nights in the 'wilds' of Cape Tribulation.
The staff are all unfailingly charming and helpful and our ground floor apartment was spacious and comfortable with caribbean theme colours, and opposite the beautiful 4 mile beach. We could have stayed for weeks!!
We walked miles all round the delights that Port Douglas has to offer and we ate very well at Salsa and the buzzy Court House Hotel. We als had a lovely meal in the Hotel.
We reccomend a visit to the Rainforest Habitat nearby for a close up meeting of all types of local wildlife.
If you have a chance to stay here you MUST, we are already planning a return visit in 2 years!

Arrived late afternoon after a trip from Sydney to a very warm welcome and an upgrade to the Peninsula suite! Fabulous, spacious rooms with a view to the ocean from the shower. Balcony on three sides ,so sun or shade all day. Yards from four mile beach with greats walks morning and evening. Easy walk into Port Douglas with lots of excellent eating places. Our favourites were Nautilus,Harrisons and 2 Fish with Soul and Pepper great for a snack. However, the food at the hotel was hard to beat with excellent food at breakfast, lunch and dinner. All in all a magical week in Port Douglas.

I don't know how we can improve on the comments already made. We were welcomed at hotel reception with a cool drink and ice cold flannel to freshen up whilst we booked in. The owners Sheryn and Phil were very attentive and showed us to our room pointing out the facilities including the complimentary laundry room on our floor which we found very useful. Our 'suite' was small but beautifully furnished and very comfortable - a quirky arrangement with moveable 'walls'. Our balcony overlooked the Four Mile Beach which was lovely and the sea breezes were very welcome. We slept with the balcony door open to hear the sea. The hotel's restaurant is very good but there are a number of great eating places on Macrossan Street nearby. Port Douglas is a great base to enable you to visit the Great Barrier Reef and the Rainforest. The harbour area is good and there are great views over the water to the mountains from Anzac Park.
