Enjoyed this Buffet restaurant in the QT Port Douglas. Really friendly waitresses and chefs. The scallop and fig tasting plate, along with the Coral Trout and steak all cooked to order was delicious! I had no problem approaching the Chef to order or pick up our meals, and enjoyed interacting with them to express our satisfaction with their culinary expertise. Novel and modern twist on Buffet dining, fresh and modern tastes at the salad bar, and salted peanut caramel and chocolate pastry for dessert was delicious! Oysters, prawns, scallops, freshly cooked fish and steak and choice of desserts for $65! Enjoyed our night here. One suggestion - spray yourself with Mossie repellent on your legs before dining, they are hungry at sunset by the open-to-the-pool dining area.

We ate here over Easter and found it outstanding. While it is certainly not intimate fine dining with intriguing combinations of flavours, the food quality was excellent. The scallops on the tasting plate where some of the best we have ever had anywhere and the oysters lovely. The chefs cooked a dozen Kilpatrick to order for me. The Coral Trout was also wonderful. The truly unique thing about this buffet is the ability to interact with the Chefs, order variations, and watch their techniques. Without a doubt the best buffet we have ever eaten at...... best restaurant maybe not but it would be up there.

We went here largely because of the wonderful reviews it had here on Trip Advisor. But we got a few disappointing surprises. Firstly, nobody who has eaten in some of the better restaurants in Port Douglas could possibly describe the food here as outstanding, although you can certainly eat as much of it as you like from their $65 per head buffet offering.
There are limited main course offerings on the buffet itself but you can order specials like fish and chips and steak although no menu of these specials was provided. If you wish to order a special, as many people did, you find that you cannot order at your table. You must go the counter to place your order, and queue up to do so. Also, amazingly, your meal is not brought to you table when ready. Instead you must go to the counter every now and then (and queue up again) to enquire whether or not your food is ready. If things are busy you can find yourself going up to the counter several times as we did. Even a carwash type buzzer system would be an improvement on the setup here!
The most disappointing thing was desserts, if you could call them that. The only offering is a selection of bite size items which you select from a refrigerator. The sort of thing you might expect to come as a titbit with your coffee.
Like most restaurants in Port Douglas you get stung if you want to wine with the meal. Nothing under $40 a bottle and $50 plus if you want something you've ever heard of.

On the week of Cyclone Ita, my partner and I were in Port Douglas. We had so many plans cancelled on us because of the impending Cyclone but thankfully we still made it to Bazaar! We'd been to the Gold Coast QT Bazaar and loved it, so we knew we had to try the one at Port Douglas. Although it was a lot smaller in size (and understandably so given the population difference), Bazaar still had a great range of delectable food. I have never been a fan of fish, but after trying the Barramundi, ordered one for myself. I also ate far too much, but don't regret any of it. The food AND service were impeccable. I'd say the service was better than the Gold Coast Bazaar too. The chefs were happy to cook any meal we wanted and the waitress was beyond amazing. Will definitely be going back (and for more than just one night!)

This is def worth doing if you are staying at the qt port douglas. If not it is still worth the trip. Lots of seafood and charcuterie available on the cold buffet. On the hot buffet there was a good selection. But even better than that was the made to order parts. We tried the tasting plate which included scallops mushrooms seared tuna and figs. We also tried the dim sum selection and the barramundi. Good selection of desserts available too
