“Good holiday park with a big clean kitchen”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 December 2013

We stayed at the holiday park for several nights. Staff is very kind. Helped us out with booking some tours. Parked was crowded with a lot of other people. Bathrooms/toilets were clean and plenty available. The kitchen was huge, with several fridges, BBQs and stoves. Well equipped! Never such a good kitchen on a campsite. It was also very clean. Walking to the marina and city centre is possible. Maybe 10-15 minutes. So well located. At night it can be dark because there are no lights.

We stayed 5 nights in our caravan and were impressed by the amenities, friendly and helpfull staff, garbage emptied daily, grassy site with slab, close to main street and tourist amenities. Great snorkelling experience on the reef, affordable restaurents. Very enjoyable.

Stayed here in a family cabin for a week. Cabins aren't new but was in good condition. Didn't have much contact with the staff but were helpful on checking in. A few minor things could be improved such as one out of only four washing machines being out of order the whole week during peak period.

Park is a short walk from the beach and about 25 minutes walk to town.

Due to a heavy holiday load, we spent the first night in our campervan on and unpowered and dusty site. Mossies and midgies were plenty.

The park has nice amenities and the kids loved the pool. It is close to the beach (walk across the road and down a beach track), but a little too far out of town to walk in. This means a drive, courtesy bus (expensive!) or taxi trip into the main street for shopping, food or drink.

The second night we were fortunate to move to a powered site that was small, but well grassed. Our little insect friends didn't seem as prevalent here!

It does provide a good base to explore the reef on one of many cruises that go out each day.

Overall a comfortable park that doesn't do anything special.

Room Tip: make sure you ask for a grassed site

We stayed here just for one night and found it a really enjoyable park, the bathroom facilities are spacious and clean, the park is nice and quiet at night and the staff and friendly and helpful. The only downside is the location, it's really not close to anything so be prepared to drive if you are wanting a decent meal or to shop around Port Douglas.

Room Tip: I'm fairly sure our site was number 60, which was a great end position for a powered site.

I don't normally write reviews but we also loved this Caravan park. The facilities were really superb - a brand new kitchen with heaps of space, large fridges, cook tops all part of the fee (no extra costs, which some sites require). The bathrooms and laundry facilities also of high quality. overall the Park (which is quite large) is really friendly. Sites are spacious. Pool good. Only draw back is its location slightly out of town. There is the Port Douglas Shuttle but its not a free or cheap bus service. people with bikes or who don't mind the walk will manage.

I don't usually write reviews but thought I should in this case because there are so few reviews of the the Pandanus van park online. We've just spent 3 nights at the Pandanus and were really pleased with it. The staff were all really helpful and the sites were large and shady. We were in a camper van and didn't use the camp kitchen but the showers were superb. The location was great: 5 mins walk to the beach and 10 mins to the centre of Port Douglas. My only negative coments would be that the park is very dark at night! There is no lighting so a torch is needed for after dark trip to the amenity block. The site is right next door to Dougies Backpackers resort which played very loud live music during 2 of our 3 evenings there. It didn't bother us too much and our 5yr of twins slept through it but I can imagine that it would disurb a lot of people.
