Stayed at Turtle Cove for 5 nights in September. Excellent beach, ocean temp perfect for that time of the year, most outstanding staff member by far was the lovely Ray, who gave the grand tour on check in, nothing was a problem for him, very helpful. The guy with the dark slicked hair cleaning the rooms, also very friendly. Other staff were about average. Good points for this property are definately the beach setting right on the ocean which is just amazing. I would definately go for the beachfront units again, whilst a little more expensive, are still great value with their position with nothing in front except the beautiful sky, ocean and palm trees. (The beachfront units are roughly the size of a standard motel room with mini fridge.) Turtle Cove allows late check outs at no extra charge if they dont need the room straight away, which was a bonus. They can assist with tour bookings and help where they can. The only things I could suggest would be whilst the lunch menu is extensive, the dinner menu just needs a few more standard items added to it, dinner was nice but the choices just a little limited. Your alternative is to drive into Port Douglas, 15 min away, so organising a hire car is a bonus there. Just lastly, the ole cocktails at the resort just need a bit of a kick in the guts, had a few and whilst they were well presented, they were quite weak, I didn't feel there was a great deal of booze in them. There was a whole massive big pile of old palm branches off palm trees along each side of the wooden walkway to the beach, they might want to think about moving them somewhere else, looked pretty messy on the eye. Overall though....nice relaxing do what you want when you want gay resort :) btw....if you are looking for a cool all in one day trip which includes the Daintree National Park, Daintree River Cruise to see the crocs, to Cape Trib and Mossman Gorge, lunch and an amazing swim in a crystal clear water hole after lunch, look up Daintree Wonder Tours.....Dave from Daintree Wonder Tours was great...takes out 10 people max and a lovely friendly man :)
