My partner and I had our second trip to TC recently - Friday through Monday. Despite threats of a cyclone, we managed to lie in the sun and go in the pool every day. We had a really relaxing time walking on the beach after breakfast and before dinner. We also made some great new friends and had lots of great conversation around the Turtle Table.
My only disappointment was we didn't pre-book a massage, so there was no appointments left while we were there. So if you want a massage, make sure you book in advance!
Thanks Queen B and the team, we'll be back :) xx

stayed one night at T Cove in Feb - the resort is beautifully located with great views and extraordinary privacy. had a beachfront room with great views. reception very friendly and welcoming. room very tired, looks like nothing much had changed in the 10 years since my last stay. bathroom especially needs a total upgrade, and not quite as clean as it could have been. you need car if staying here, as its wonderful isolation means few transport options.

Room Tip: go the beachfront - lovely to sleep with the sound of the waves

Had a great time visiting, will be back again for sure.
Pleasantly surprised with great food and excellent service.
Property is a solid 4-star , nothing too fancy , but lots of fun , a gorgeous bit of scenery , and an easy 15 min drive to Port Douglas.

We are a gay male couple and we stayed for two nights at Turtle Cove in March 2014. From being picked up at the airport, to the friendly and accommodating staff to the beautiful meals and the amazing beach and sociable guests, we felt our stay was worth it. We would highly recommend the beachfront villas for the comfort and view. Great for singles and couples.

So as the old song goes " Let's start at the very beginning it's a very good place to start "
Reservation - Score out of 10, it has to be 10, I e-mailed the resort asking to book a room for a Week in Feb of 2014, I received a reply within 24 hours advising me that due to planned maintenance work for a 3 week period in Feb they could not accept my booking BUT they did let me know what dates and room types were available either side of the dates that I previously requested, giving the full breakdown of the rates and what was included, I have waited longer for a reply from bigger hotel chains without any other options being given if they were full or closed so I thought this was great.

Arrival/Check-In, again it's a 10. We travelled to Turtle Cove direct from the UK via Dubai and Melbourne so we were a little tired when our transfer coach dropped us off. Carl who welcomed us with a warm smile completed the check-in process quickly he showed us around the public areas to the resort even though we had stayed on 2 previous times, he showed us to our room (we had been upgraded to a coral-sea beach front room with the best view, thanks Dan ) he went through the breakfast/lunch and dinner times, loved the fact that breakfast started at 7am as I knew we would be suffering from Jet-Lag and would be around early.
Thanks Carl you made us feel very welcome and it truly was like returning to old friends after many years (Carl and that's TC not you)

The Room - Bit of a theme going on now but yes 10 again.
Perfect just perfect, I have also travelled extensively over the last 35 years with my partner and we also owned our own hotel for over 10 years and I must say the cleanliness of our room (105) was second to none and it remained this way for the 7 nights we stayed, We did have a problem with the lock on the terrace door but was shown the slip bolts used to lock it, we had a problem with the Bed-Side lights on the first night but after talking to Tony the House Boy (so much nicer than cleaner) this was put right, we had no other issues and loved our room Thank you Tony

Bar/Restaurant or Drinks/Food - Outstanding and yes a 10
A wide selection of drinks that I would expect to find in larger hotels, a varied cocktail list, perfectly chilled white wines (just as we like them really cold).
The Menu was varied with speciality nights thrown in, while we stayed we had a Thai Night thanks to Max (thai waiter) great, lovely and very tasty and the food was also out of this world.
We also had a Pizza Night, we are not Pizza Lovers but enjoyed making and cooking our own Pizza, it's great seeing a resort trying varied themes to keep guests entertained.
The main Menu changed daily for dinner and for the other 5 nights I did not have to eat the same thing, well done to the Chef the food was fantastic and great value, we paid no more for our meals and drinks at Turtle Cove than we did in Victoria following our stay. I am only sorry I can't remember the young chefs name as I think you were great very talented keep up the good work it showed you loved your job.

Pool/Beach - The breakfast waiter (Max, Carl, Dan) on a daily basis cleaned the areas around the pool and restaurant to the best of their ability but being on the edge of a forest and having large trees on all sides this was a never ending task but they tried, after late nights in the bar/pool it always looked clean without any signs of what had gone on the previous night, Once again well done to you all it was a great place to chill and relax getting some sun.

We returned to the Turtle Cove on the 24th Jan after about 10 years and we are so happy we did, we spent 7 nights in a beach front room after being upgraded (it was our anniversary 35 years) can't say thank you enough.
We also stayed back in 1994 when the resort Manager Bert (Queen B) was originally in charge, it was so so nice seeing you again and it has to be said you are doing a fantastic job.
We really did have a very special time staying at the Turtle Cove again, great atmosphere its so chilled out but you can also join in with everyone if you want and party the day/night away, it's great not having signs everywhere saying Pool/Hot Tub Closed at Sunset (or earlier) but being treated as adults on holiday so special after all it's a Holiday.
We were also lucky enough to meet the New Owner's they arrived on our last night and also the resorts prior to closing and had a great night Thank You.

Turtle Cove please stay as you are, a place that Gay People can go to and be ourselves without having to worry about being looked or sniggered at, Yes I agree with another reviewer their are many places out in Cairns/Port Douglas after the Pink Dollar but not with the same great location, facilities and Staff

Go Turtle Cove We Love You
On a personal note could we change the uniform - Skimpy Shorts and Tight Vest's (Bert obviously you would have to wear more formal attire)

Thank You Again - and thanks for reading this and sorry it's so long but I think Turtle Cove deserves it.

We spent 4 great days based at Turtle Cove. Our 1st visit. The staff are cool and relaxed. Service excellent. Food great. Brilliant views from the front guest rooms, ( Rooms a little tired...Believe they entire & entire resort undergoing a face lift in February).Overall a truly nice ambiance. ( spoilt unfortunately by an altercation the one evening. Aggressive .gays will be gays when alcohol added to a great party.) That besides it was a lovely stay. Thanks to Bert and the team. We hope to be back. Highly recommended to LGBT community.

Room Tip: Book sea facing room.

My partner and I, (31 and 36) recently stayed at Turtle Cove for 5 nights in mid January. We had a fantastic time! Turtle Cove is perfectly located between Port Douglas and Cairns. It was easy to get to both for great restaurants and tours - Daintree rainforest etc
1. The pool with waterfall and secluded hot tub was amazing.
2. The food was AMAZING - small menu although perfectly done
3. There is laundry services on site which was great as we were on a 3 week vacation.
4. All of the employees were great - very helpful!
5. The rooms were very nice - we were upgraded. Great TV channels (wink), AC (which was needed)
The only 2 complaints I have is the price of drinks - $15.50 (you can take your own poolside) and WiFi is only available at the bar/pool area, not in rooms.
Great experience and can't wait to go back during our next trip to Australia.
