Gratitudes Boutique Suites
Reviewed 19 June 2014

I booked the Gratitudes after reading great reviews on trip advisor. One previous customer recommended the balcony room so I went with that.

The room itself is modern and as described on the website.

Unfortunately I had ants in my room & bathroom. I rang the owners to see about a later check out or a left luggage facility in Port Douglas as the check out time is 10am & my flight was not until 4pm from Cairns. The owner didn't introduce her self on the phone and was quite unhelpful so I didn't even bother to mention the ants.

From the balcony room, I could hear everyone's conversation as they passed below and heard everytime someone used the ATM directly below. I could also hear the door bang everytime someone entered the stairs to the apartments so could not sleep until after 12am every night. Not ideal when your up for day tours starting at 7am!

Room Tip: Do not choose the balcony room. It is right next to a pub so if you want an early night - forget it...

Excellent located in the middle of Port Douglas town. What we didn't expect, that the room is facilitated with an ipad to use, as well as coffee machine (nespresso). That was really a bonus. That means we have free internet on the ipad, and there's stereo connected to it too which we can play, and TV / Movie controlled by the ipad.

Recently stayed for three nights in this venue in Port Douglas. Nice room with a modern clean finish, excellent size room and best of all a coffee machine. Lovely welcome pack of wine and chocolates (we booked a package). Easy stroll to a range of eateries. Was initially worried about location but turned out to be incredibly quiet. Excellent hosts. Will stay again.

Room Tip: We had the double at the front without a balcony - nice big room and very quiet.

As a local from the Cairns area, I recently had the pleasure of staying one night at this accommodation due to my work commitments in Port Douglas. What a delightful and charming little spot! Rooms are beautifully decorated, clean and very modern and include free iPad use, Apple TV and Nespresso Coffee maker all at your fingertips. Centrally located with parking, not to mention that they donate 10% of each stay to charity, there was so much to like about it. Janine was friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived. Thank you for such a pleasant stay- will be back again.

Close to everything in the heart of Port Douglas, cute room with air con and a balcony which was great to chill out on, after a big day at the reef.
Owners are very freindly and you get off street parking, in all great value

Room Tip: Ask for the balcony suite to ensure you get a room with one.

From the very beginning of our enquiry right through to checking out, Janine is friendly, helpful and incredibly attentive.

There is a small lobby as the meeting point with Janine otherwise very quick to respond on the mobile. We loved the service and local knowledge provided.

The rooms are clean and modern with the ensuite amenities required. There is an iPad with Internet access and a large flat screen for all your tv viewing. The beds are incredible comfortable and the pillows are like clouds, I woke up every morning without any neck pain. There are fans and an air conditioner in the room meaning we were always in a cool room. You have a bar fridge, kettle and iron.

The plus about being centrally located on the Main Street is that you are within walking distance of the marina, four mile beach and all the stores and restaurants. While we had a car rental, we did not use it for exploring port Douglas. Situated just above the ANZ branch meant we always had access to an ATM which was convenient.

The only downside was something that cannot be controlled which are the noisy fruit bats that come out at night which can be loud.

We loved the hospitality and the promptness of the service so thank you to Janine!

As a bonus they donate 10% of your accommodation rate to charity which you can nominate from the four. Love it.
