“Great way to spend a day.”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

We thought the entry price was a bit high but it turned out to be good value, there was so much to look at. Loved it.
If only we had not gone on our last day, as the give you a free pass to come back another day.

“An interactively expensive zoo”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

First, let’s make it clear: this zoo is an expensive one. A family of three (or four, for that matter) should expect to spend $83 on entry, and that’s for entry only; the zoo will try to bribe you with food offerings and animal feeding options. On the positive side, if you’re stuck at Port Douglas for a few days, this far from large zoo will let you in again for no additional cost.
Once your wallet is robbed clean, however, this one is a great zoo – the best in the area, by far. It’s an Australian zoo, so do not expect to see anything that doesn’t belong to the continent, but you will see a lot.
The main attraction is that the animals are not caged. You walk over platforms through the zoo’s three main areas as you are surrounded by animals below you, around you, and above you. Which is pretty fantastic. Obviously, the crocs are only watched from above, but you can feed the kangaroos and their mates or have a chat with the occasional bird.

“A hidden wildlife gem”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

We had a great time here feeding the wallabies and kangaroos. We also really enjoyed the lunch with the lorikeets, the keepers bring the beautiful birds round to sit on your hand or stand on your head! Our children really enjoyed the chance to get close to the koalas and young crocs. To be honest, I would rate this more highly than many of the city zoos as you can get close to the animals and they are obviously well fed and happy.

“Great attraction”
Reviewed 10 July 2014 via mobile

Had breakfast with the birds and it was excellent. Good food and a wonderful
attraction. Very enjoyable and educational. Good tucker also. Do get there early as it can be a bit crowded at the buffee when a bus arrives. Will do it again before we leave this area. Definitely a must do

“Great experince not to be missed”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

We hadn't been here for years and it has certainly changed, for the better. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience which was made particularly enjoyable by joining the free tours. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out lots of things we would have missed on our own. It was especially great to see the birds, tec., close up when coming to her for a feed. Our only regret is that we didn't go sooner in our stay so we could have used the free return ticket.
