"Tripadvisor traveller's choice of the year" and FRIDAY the cat brought us here. Still, I will call it a hidden gem of Port Douglas. <3 We stayed at one of the private garden villas for two nights as part of our "mini moon". The villa is so well facilitated with cozy front yard, outdoor shower, candles, mosquito scent(nice!), small but well contained kitchen, fantastic wide couch (you can actually roll on it), ceiling fans, comfortable king sized bed and ensuite bathroom (best shampoo and conditioner I've ever tried at a paid accommodation). Gigi and her partner provided beach towels and shawls! It's very clean in the villa, the bed was so comfortable. With only the ceiling fan spinning, I slept like a log. Not to mention the pool, pool side bar, little library and fabulous garden deco. I will definitely go back and give Friday and pat. :)

This was our third stay at the Pink Flamingo Resort, and each time we stay a few more days. The vegetation is luxuriant and beautifully tended, and creates great intimacy. The accommodation is fantastic, each villa with a private courtyard, with a hammock, a large bathtub, tables and chairs. The décor of the accommodation is fab, in strong, happy colours; the setting is so brilliantly relaxing, peaceful and quiet. It is a short walk to the beach and to the town. Perfect to get a meal out and come back to get completely chilled. Facilities in the resort are wonderful: pool table, books, DVDs; the pool is large enough to swim in, although many just lounge about. Gigi and Andrea are perfect managers: discreetly solicitous, and clearly wishing for their guests not to be wanting. We have booked again for next year, for a yet longer stay!

Room Tip: We prefer rooms 6 to 10 which benefit from denser vegetation, although they might be a little shadie...

The rooms was spacious and funky in an old school but good way. The bed was comfy. Gigi and Andrea are excellent hosts. You can easily laze your days away by the pool and totally unwind. It's a queer friendly space too. I confess I've been back 4 times

I stayed at the Pink Flamingo over the Labour Day weekend and thoroughly enjoyed my vacation, I just wish it could have been longer - I will definitely be returning. The Pink Flamingo has a welcoming, relaxing and spiritual ambience. I loved the outdoor shower and bathroom. Gigi and Andrea go that extra mile to make everything special with lots of candles, sarongs, beach towels in addition to a plentiful supply of bath towels. There are tropical plants everywhere and the pool was fabulous. I would recommend purchasing their breakfast - for $15 I had cereal, bread, a roll, a vast selection of fruit, yoghurt, cheese etc. The wine and beer are reasonably priced too. There is a great selection of books and DVDs that one can borrow, plus bicycles for hire.

Pink Flamingo is a very nice and relaxing place to stay. The bungalows are set in a beautiful tropical garden and have lots of extras. Very clean. There is a nice pool. You can easily spend a relaxing day at your bungalow or in the garden. Good value for money. The very friendly owner helped us book our reeftour.

We stayed at Pink Flamingo early September 2013 and loved it. In fact we went back for more nights after staying in the Daintree. The accomodation is very spacious and has lots of extras that show the staff really care about visitors having a lovely time: bath salts, bath robes, pool towels, lavalavas, cold drink on arrival, etc, etc. We loved the private outside bath and the stunningly beautiful tropical garden. Pool was large and warm.

We stayed at the Pink Flamingo for two nights in September 2013, and wish it had been for two weeks! This might be my favorite hotel that I've ever stayed at - the management was so attentive to helping us prepare for our arrival and sharing information about Port Douglas with us and the garden studio was absolutely divine - so thoughtfully set up, so comfortable, and so gorgeous. I felt that the price was fantastic for what we got. Location was also perfect for us - quiet and peaceful, but a very short walk from town. I can't recommend the Pink Flamingo enough, and if we are lucky enough to go back to Port Douglas, we will always stay here!

Room Tip: Go for the garden studios - they have outdoor shower/baths and hammocks!

Thank you for the wonderful review! I just like to clarify the room type you stayed in with the outdoor bath and hammock is a Private Garden Villa, not a Garden Studio, the Garden Studio's are our budget option and don't offer those facilities (just to avoid disappointment for future guests)
