My wife and I stayed here whilst on honeymoon in September this year. We hadn't really planed our trip beforehand due to the wedding taking centre stage. So our first night in the Port Douglas area was Thala Beach Lodge (which I will be writing a review for shortly) the next day, we decided to investigate other options, and this was the first one we came across, and there was no need to look any further. Attractive, well designed, clean apartments in a wonderfully quiet location. You don't have to drive into Port Douglas, but a car may be required.
The staff are so friendly and offered the best advice on what to do! (Although I do blame them for all the great reviews that I will now have to write!!!)
On our final day I went down before check-out and asked if we could heck-out late as we had an afternoon flight, it wasn't an issue, and after a few days packed full of activities, it was great to just chill by their second pool which again is in great condition.
It never felt busy, and it was great to have our own apartment, so we could cook, unpack and not feel like we were in a hotel.

Hi Marc
Glad you enjoyed your time at Paradise Links, I know you did most everything whilst in Far North Queensland. Thanks for the great comments , if we can offer late checkout without interfering with arrivals, we always try to accommodate. It was great you did not waste that last day. All the best for a long and happy marital bliss. Joking - JC Merry Christmas and an excellent 2014.

First class accommodation and support from Emma and her team made this a wonderful experience for us in our first time in the wet tropics. Both tours that were recommended by the staff were absolutely superb. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place and hope we will find the time to return next year

Room Tip: A short walk to the golf club is well rewarded - ac comfort first class

Hi Tony M, been away for 2 weeks and it is great to have Emma & Johnny heading our very strong team, most staff have now been with us for the entire 3 years we have managed Paradise Resort. This is a bonus not only to us as managers but also to our guests. We believe our local knowledge is a great asset and we do genuinely try to steer guests in the direction that suits their needs. We are not driven by kick backs and commissions. Thanks again and we welcome you back anytime. JC

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights, hired a car in cairns and drove up. I would recommend hiring a car if you want to get around, plus some of the drives are breathtaking along the coast.
We arrived out of hours (after 5pm) and collected out key easily from the safety storage. The apartments are big, well furnished with all that you would need for a short stay, lovely balcony and nice furniture. The complex is pretty secure, although you can walk through the reception at any time.
We made use of the BBQ facility's a couple times, the fridge has some useful things such as sauces and oils, foil and cling film. The reception are has free wifi which was also handy. They also have golf clubs and bikes for hire. The clubs were $20 for a day, I played the mirage resort, it's an OK course for the price but I was a little disappointed with the greens.
The staff at the reception were always more than helpful, JC advised us to wait before we went to the barrier reef as the seas were quite rough and advised us to head to the Daintree Rainforest, Mossman Gorge and Cape Trib. Well worth spending a day there if you have a car. I would stay again if I ever head back to Port Douglas

We chose this place based on Tripadvisor reviews, and the reviews are correct. This is a great little place to stay. The 'resort' is relatively small and unassuming, and the apartments are spacious and well appointed. The pools are great. I'd stay there again.

We had read lots of wonderful reviews of this resort on Trip Adviser, and it was even better than we could have expected! It is a lovely resort with beautiful gardens & pools, a great 1 bedroom apartment and very helpful & friendly staff. We could not recomend this more highly and will definitely be coming back as soon as we can.

Very nice and clean rooms, and a very helpfull starff.
There is a Lot of bird's life in the area - a little noisy but we love that.
Unfortunally we got a room next to the main road - try to avoid that.
Shopping mall just one kilometer away
5 km to the town but shuttle busses departement every 15 min. Or you can walk by the beach, it is so amazing.

Hi Jens, thanks for the constructive comments. We also are amazed at the incredible amount of bird life in town at the moment. Morning however is a great time and if the birds wake you suggest you take the short stroll to 4 Mile Beach and watch the sun come up, it is a fantastic sight, just ask Shirley and Daisy our dog, they do it every morning. Have a great 2014 and enjoy your future travels. JC

This is a great place if you don't want to be in the hustle and bustle which is just what we were looking for. The two bedroom villa we had was well appointed and very clean with a nice view overlooking the golf course and pond. The pool was a definite highlight and we chose this place because it had a good sized kid friendly pool. We spent quite a bit of time in the pool and there was never a problem with overcrowding or getting a lounge. The gardens are lovely and everything is well maintained. Its not really a 'resort' though as most people would understand it. Apart from the bbq and a small snack fridge there aren't really any facilities. That didn't bother us because we like the self-catering option in any case. But it is seriously stingy to be given a very limited supply of 'amenities' like dishwashing liquid, one dishwasher tablet and two small garbage bags. We were prepared for that because we did a lot of research before we booked but given that this is hardly budget location it would be reasonable to expect that there was enough cleaning products to last your stay. Most people will pack their own shampoo and soap but expecting people to bring or buy dishwasher tablets and garbage bags is just mean - especially if they're coming from overseas.

At times it is hard not to bite back at a review. Rakus Punch investigated thoroughly the resort and yes we are self catering, self contained. If you ask at reception we Always provide another dishwash sachet, toilet roll, soap extra towels etc., Sarcasm at times really hurts and to say we are mean is just not fair. Thank you for your opinion and comments. JC
