“Pork buns and Degustation deliciousness”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

We dined here as a group of 4 after being recommended by locals for not only the restaurant but the day spa as well. After having had a few cocktails the day of our spa treatment we were very much looking forward to our dinner the few days later. The degustation was amazing! Wow! The chefs and the staff here really know what they are doing and the setting of the restaurant is beautiful. The staff are professional and knowledgeable with wines to recommend and the flavours that the chefs use in their cooking is incredible. If this restaurant was in Melbourne we would have paid twice the price with smaller portions! Well done guys, all the best and keep it up. We will definitely be back and we are already telling all our friends back home!

“Excellent meal”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

We dined as a group of 6 and thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
The courses were of an excellent standard, imaginative and a pleasure to eat.
The wine list wasn't as good as I would have hoped.
Service and the ambiance were very good. It wasn't cheap but overall it was a very pleasant experience.

“Disappointed bigtime-what a shame!”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

We booked here based on the number 1 TripAdvisor ranking this restaurant had at the time. The restaurant being out of town, we had to catch the bus to get to Rasa. The place was almost empty on the night we visited. While the waiters who served us were pleasant enough, they took ages to come to us, the food took ages to be served and they messed up our order - I had 2 smalls and my daughter had 1 main and they brought my 2 smalls as an entree for us each, even after we explained what we were after. And this left my daughter waiting for ages for her main meal. The deconstructed banana cake she had for dessert was dry and nothing special at all. The portions were small and overpriced. The place is huge and lacks atmosphere. And it was so dark!! It was actually hard to read the menu and see our food. Has anyone else experienced that? It's such a shame as we were looking forward to dining at the number 1 place but cannot understand this rating at all. We wanted to love it - we put effort to get there (not just around the corner) but sadly, just didn't live up to expectations.

“Vacation Highlight!”
Reviewed 16 August 2014

After hearing from multiple locals in town about how great Rasa at Niramaya resort was, we just had to try it for ourselves. Having visited numerous restaraunts throughout our trip the food, friendly and bubbly waitresses and lovely pool side setting was hands down the best and most memorable of our stay in Port Douglas. The servers and chefs were more than happy to accommodate for food preferences and no request was made to seem too difficult. I would highly recommend Rasa to anyone planning on visiting Port Douglas.

“Disappointed.”
Reviewed 15 August 2014

My daughter ordered the Tofu... five small pieces of Tofu and 5 small mushrooms. Bland, small, inadequate. A side of Asian greens a fried baby Bok Choi fried with a bit of stuff on top. the fish meal I ordered was nothing special. Overpriced, over-rated We were tired and hungry after a long trip, and had to go to the IGA down the road to buy food so my daughter didn't go to bed hungry. Stayed in Port Douglas a week, left this restaurant feeling ripped off and hungry.
