Thank you for submitting a review following your stay. I am pleased you enjoyed your apartment though the dampness and humidity is one of the big challenges during the wet season in the tropics. We find once the air-conditioner kicks in the air improves very quickly. Whilst each apartment does come with a set of crockery, cutlery, glassware and utensils, unfortunately we can’t include any food items. These days we can’t even leave a salt shaker in the room as everything has to be sealed. Both Coles and an IGA store are both only a 5 minutes drive away. We hope you will visit us again soon on your next trip to Port Douglas.

Stayed one night, would go back anyday. Impressed with the room, the price, the pool. Short stroll to the beach and then a dip in the pool made for a great afternoon. Will be back.
Thankyou Oaks lagoon. Port douglas is so beautiful and staying at Oaks made the experience that extra bit special.

Thank you for taking the time to submit some feedback. I am sure this will be helpful to fellow travellers considering a visit to Port Douglas. Marissa who manages our massage facility does a wonderful job and is even recommended by local physiotherapists to treat sporting injuries. We hope to see you again sometime soon for another Port Douglas escape.

We tried to use the spa on the first night and it didn't work. We couldn't ring the front desk as it was 730 and reception close at 7pm. We logged our complaint the next day and we were told it could not get fixed as one of the maintenance workers was sick and the other was out. In the end, the problem still was not rectified when we checked out. There was orange stains on the white curtains when we checked into the room. The hotel takes a $150 security deposit for 10 days. I understand the need for a deposit, although don't understand the concept when you have checked out of your hotel and a week later you are still waiting for your refund. There is also no restaurant. I wouldn't stay here again.

I am sorry we were not able to fix the spa on Sunday when it was reported. Unfortunately the motor had seized though I understand reception did offer you access to another spa though this should have occurred earlier. The stained curtains have now been noted for replacement and I thank you for bringing this to our attention. Your agent should have made you aware of our pre-authorisation requirements which for clarity, a pre-authorization does not take money from your account, but does reduce the funds available to you until the bond has been released. Most other major banks in Australia only hold a pre-authorisation for 5 business days. This is also a security measure for our guests to ensure a stolen card is not presented. On request we will always assist guest have this released earlier if needed. Thank you for thanking the time to leave some feedback.

Payed $94 per night and got a spa, plasma tv and other luxurious items to stay the week with. Staff are very accommodating and the pool is very spacious. Bike rentals are cheap ($80 p/week) and is a 15 minute ride to town. A great place to stay the week.

Hi Angus, Thanks for taking the time to review our resort. Port Douglas certainly is a great place to ride a bike around since there are no hills to get in your way, unless your feeling adventurous and ride up to the lookout. Always good to chain up to a lamp post somewhere and sip lattes whilst you can catch up on a little reading. We have some great deals at the moment through Feb & March being our low season. Awesome rates are available on the Oaks Website. Hope to see you again next tine you are having a tropical break.

We were impressed by the BBQ facilities with everything provided that you could need. Loved the privacy of the end swim out unit. The downer being the zip together beds don't agree with my back, but luckily found the fold out!

Room Tip: The end swim out apartment is the most private. Try to make use of the excellent bbq facilities

Thank you Kym for your review. I am pleased you enjoyed the BBQ facilities here and theswim out rooms. We notice guests find it not only a great place to prepare some stay at home meals, but a great place to meet other guests and share ideas about the region. I do love the bird life in the Melaleuca trees near the end rooms. On sunset the activity and chirping can be mesmerising. I am however sorry the bed did not suit you but I am pleased that you found a solution. It is always worth contacting reception as we may be able to resolve such a problem whilst guests are in house. We hope to see you here again on your next trip to the tropical north.

We booked 5 nights in a 1 bedroom apartment through Groupon and were not disappointed.
The room was huge with good facilities for self-catering: large fridge, freezer, dishwasher, hotplate & plenty of cubpoard space with additional shared BBQ area that was well equiped and stocked with leftover sauses/oils/salt/pepper etc from previous guests.
We had free half day bike hire included in our deal which we used to cycle up to the main strip in Port Douglas (approx 20 mins) and brought the shopping back in the baskets on the bikes. To walk it took between 40-50minutes depending on the heat and if we stopped for gelato!
As mentioned by others, there are buses running from the Ramada next door into town and back approx every 15-20 minutes which are great after dinner (you have to eat at Salsa whilst you're there!) in the evening (the walk back can be quite dark at night with few streetlights) or when its just too hot; and if you don't fancy heading into town, walk out of Oaks Lagoons in the opposite direction and down the main road from approx 7-10minutes and there is a fish and chip shop there which is excellent quality and great value for money, and a bottleshop if you need to stock up on drinks and don't have a car.
Check out tours whilst you are up there - we went out onto the reef diving with Calypso and used Viator to book a day trip to Mossman, Cape Tribulation and the Daintree Rainforest, both of which were very good.
Great staff, lovely apartments and very peaceful - would highly recommend.
