Stayed 4 nights, when we arrived we found our room smelt very damp/stuffy. We found if you opened the sliding door to let fresh air in mosquitos came in. There were no fly screens which seems odd for a tropical location. So the door had to be closed at night and we found then the air conditioner blew directly onto our heads in bed, when we put on the fan it was too cold? Please install FLYSCREENS

After being left out in the cold by FNQ Apartments and not being able to find anything for 5 nights QT was recommended to us.
It was a first rate experience from the staff, settings room & decor.
A lot of thought has gone into the theme of the resort & it was quality, cheerful & fun. The food was good too - Now that is what a relaxing holiday is all about!!

My wife and I just spent a few nights at QT port Douglas, I was very impressed. The reception area and staff uniforms are a little cheesy, however once you look past this, the rest of the resort is Excellent.
Initially I was a little put off with the location away from town, and the "railway" running next to it on the map. - I needn't have worried as the out of town location means its quiet, and the railway line next to it is a steam railway used on Saturdays and Sundays as a tourist attraction. - So no real noise or disturbance.
We ate at Bazaar, which was delicious, a nice way to finish the day. Pork belly was amazing!

Nice resort, nice grounds although the buildings once you get away from the reception area are dated with stair hand railings falling apart and generally 1980's tarted up decor. Room very nice but bed like a hammock and with a somewhat bad back going in I needed a massage to get me moving again after two nights in the hammock.

Worst part, on arrival at midday, despite requesting an early check in, we were told our room wasn't ready and the unhelpful gent behind the counter told us we could have a room by two, despite the fact we needed to back down at Palm Cove by two for the wedding we had travelleled to Port Douglas to attend. After a tense 25 minutes waiting they came up with a room and we had 35 minutes to get ready for the wedding.

On departure we arrived home to find they have charged out credit card for additional charges and when I rang them today they had no record of this despite the charges appearing on my account.

Next time we'll stay closer to the Main Street and definitely not at QT.

My partner and I stayed at qt in August! We loved it so much we hardly left the resort! All staff were really nice and very helpful. The pool was amazing and so were the cocktails. Can't wait to go back.

Stayed here in May 2012 just after they changed to the QT brand. The room was very small and the bed was so high I felt that I would fall off and break something! The pool is fantastic, although they had floating ducks which was a little childish but still good fun, loved the lounges in the middle of the pool. The meals were very good, and great bistro. Just a little far out of town though.

We recently stayed at QT in a joined room with our two children. We had a great time and the kids enjoyed the pool. Service was good and the staff friendly and helpful. The rooms we had were good, however, some minor wear and tear evident. The breakfast was amazing, especially when they made special pancakes for our daughter who has dairy and egg allergies. While we did have a great time there, it wasn't very child friendly regarding activities and pool area and would be much better with a free shuttle into town as it is a distance.
