Stayed here only one night but wished it was for more. The cabins are really good, spacious & has everything you need being fully self contained.Cabins are well spaced apart & is very quiet set well into the native bush area.Scrub turkeys, wallabies rosm freely. The cave walk is excellent & the guides are very knowledgeable. The overall staff are very accomodating & very courteous.I will return & recommend this place highly, it's a hidden gem.
5 stars.

We stayed in a cabin, which was pretty average, upon arrival we had a a breakfast basket waiting for us, which was quite good, as the shops are quite far away from this property. This was a 2 bedroom, with 1 bathroom, the rooms are quite small, along with the lounge and kitchen. But it would still be perfect for a family for 4. It was a little outdated, however, it def is a nice quiet and peaceful stay. At night it gets really dark, as your surrounded in trees, and all you can hear are the insects and birds in the evening as well as the mornings.. Which was very peaceful. Would def reccommend this if your looking for a nice quite/private stay.

Because we finished our day early in Rocky we decided to go to the caves and stay there for the night. Kind guy that helped us checking in. He pointed out they also did tours to the caves if we were interested. And we were, cheap ticket prices. We stayed on a campsite with maybe 2 or 3 other couples. It was very quiet. Kitchen only has a bbq, no stoves. So we had to cook again in our camper. Bathroom area was clean, but filled with spiders.
Our tour started early in the morning. Duration was about an hour. Our guide was funny and told us a lot about the caves and the environment. In the caves there are hundreds of bats flying around. Just great! A must do when you are staying there!

This place was not quite what we expected. For us, my wife and I, we were only looking for an overnight stay on our little trip from Noosa to Townsville and saw this advertised in the RACQ magazine.
The cabins are really too old and are in a desperate need of modernization. Our cabin was stiflingly too hot. I had pre-booked it and it would have been nice for the staff to have prepared it for our arrival by at lease opening the multitude of windows and letting it air a bit. The day was in the low 30 degrees Celsius but on entering the cabin it must have been in the mid forties inside and it smelt mouldy. And, unfortunately, it was not as clean as we have expected our accommodation to be.
Our unit had no air-conditioning but I think that you would have to pay a higher premium for that as we did see some units with AC installed.
The cabin was huge and obviously been made for a large group of people. We had our queen bed and there was also a small room with six bunk beds, plus a single bed and what also looked like two pull down sofa beds.
On the good side:
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Being in a National Park area it is so quiet, we loved that.
They included a free basket of breakfast products, a nice touch.
There is a wonderful gas BBQ. If it was closer to the cabin it would have been exceptional
The sites for caravans look absolutely wonderful.
The amenities for the caravaners are great.

In a sense I think that I picked something that was outside my expectations as this place is specific for people wanting to spend a few days exploring the beautiful wonders of the natural caves here.

Not for us, but I am sure it would be wonderful for many other people. They did ask for a critique which unfortunately I forgot to fill out. I apologise to them for that as I think that they deserved that.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, everyone's feedback is welcomed. I take on board your comment about the cabin being" too old and in desperate need of modernization". The cabin you where booked into is our standard cabin which is the cheapest of our cabins. We have priced the cabin cheaper as it is not to the same standard as our deluxe cabins which have been recently renovated. You mentioned the cabin was very hot upon arrival and we will try to open the cabin and cool it down for future guests. The standard cabin is currently our only cabin fitted with evaporative cooling and not air conditioning one of the other reasons it is cheaper. We are currently in the process of looking at air conditioning it like our deluxe cabins. I am glad you enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the park as this is something we feel makes us unique.

Kind Regards

We booked a 'Honeymoon' package for an overnight stay on our way up to Airlie Beach. The package included a stay in a cabin, two tickets to the caves tour and a breakfast basket. The cabin was immaculate, modern and very spacious. It was separated from everything else by a little bit of bush and was just the most relaxing place to be after a long drive. The food packages were extremely generous. The caves tours was fantastic and all the staff were very friendly. If I ever need to stay near Rockhampton again, I'm coming here.
