Hilton Surfers Paradise
Ranked #12 of 33 Hotels in Surfers Paradise
Reviewed 22 February 2013

Stayed at the Hilton last weekend. The hotel is built in the wrong place along the nightclub strip. The noise at night echoing from the clubs was disgraceful. I had NO sleep, so be prepared to have a sleepless stay. I can not believe that when the Hilton was being built they did not think to sound proof the rooms or better still build it somewhere better. It seems like such a waste because the hotel itself was amazing the buffet breakfast was so yum it was in the Luke Mangden restaurant. I booked the king executive suite so my husband and I had access to the exclusive lounge between 6-8pm which meant alcohol and nibbles for the whole time, the view was amazing too. We did like how clean the room was but like others were disappointed with the "ocean views" you seriously had to stand on the balcony and stretch your head out to see the water. No chairs on the balcony either but why would you want to sit out there and listen to the noise from the clubs echoing up and let me just say that the music started from when we arrived, so it was so annoying. Oh yeah $15 to park your car just for an overnight stay too. Should be included in the hotel price, not extra. Anyways just wanted to tell others about my experience.

As an HHonors Gold member was upgraded from a basic room to a 2 bedroom apartment with ocean view and large balcony.

The apartment was spacious and well appointed, with large ocean facing windows that offered some of the best views in Surfer's Paradise.

Service was fast and efficient, with excellent room service that is a trademark of the Hilton group.

The pool facilities were also great, although lack privacy.

Looking forward to returning as a Diamond member in July!

My mum and I decided to go down the coast with her Wotif voucher (Christmas present) and spend the night at the well-known Hilton Hotel. We thought you couldn't go wrong with such a great name and it being a brand new hotel. We were so wrong!

We get to reception and there was only one person working with a massive line and they directed us to the wrong lifts and we got lost. Great start!

We were so excited to try the pool bar when we first arrived but couldn't because it was closed at 4pm for no apparent reason.

We finally find our room and it was extremely small with no 'Ocean Views' as suggested, just a small view of the river. Not even a balcony! The air conditioning was terrible. All night it went on and off and it was like being in a sauna. Pity, because the bed and pillows were amazing.

Overall a very disappointing experience, given that we were so excited to go to the Hilton Hotel. Would not recommend any Hilton Hotel ever. We feel ripped off by a complacent brand. Lesson learnt.

Room Tip: Make sure you confirm 'Ocean View' and balcony.

We are just back from a 3 day stay at this Hotel . Its in a good location but can be noisy especially at night from the nearby music bar. Although we had an Ocean View our immediate view was on to a rather derelict street .
Our one huge disappointment was the "Salt Grill Restaurant' where the staff need to brush up on their customer service skills! especially the wine waiter who came to our table never made eye contact or spoke to any of us and poured our wine then walked away ... totally ignored the fact we were there! The rest of the staff cleared tables and set up for breakfast in front of us , this was before 9pm. I have never experienced this in a fine dining restaurant.
I would possibly stay here again but not use their signature restaurant.

we got a gret deal of wotif $300 and something for a 2 bedroom apartment the only downside was the balcony was sooo small there were 4 of us but only room for 2 on the balcony, and it was facing the other buildings, other than that nice room, great helpful staff but I would have been gutted if we paid the rack rate

Room Tip: make sure you get a room with a view and a balcony that can fit more than 2 people!

We stayed here Dec 2012 /Jan 2013 and the apartment was spacious, clean with beautiful views. The Spa treatments were good value for money and the staff very friendly, yet polite. Pool area is practical, though we haven't used it much, as the ocean was very close and the weather was perfect...Good coffee and food, excellent customer service! Thank you!
