“Amazing room and great service.”
Reviewed 1 February 2014 via mobile

Everything was perfect, the hotel is beautiful and the location and view were amazing. The only problem we encountered was when we decided to smoke weed on the balcony, there wasn't a single chair to sit on, so we had to sit on the floor. You'd think a hotel with such prestige would at least have some chairs on the balcony.

Booked a sky 2 Bedroom suite with breakfast and paid in advance. Checked in to a nice corner apartment on the 44th floor for our 6 night stay. The apartment was sensational with ceiling to floor windows providing clear views all the way up the coast, 2 bedrooms each with ensuite and 3rd ensuite in living area. Apartment was very warm so we called reception who had the engineers check the air conditioning who then visited our apartment and said all was good, after another restless sleep due to the heat I tried to wash some clothes to find out the washing machine was broken.
We were offered an upgrade to another apartment due to the air con and washing machine malfunctions. We packed up after 2 nights and we're moved down to the 43 rd floor apartment that had 2 bedrooms & only 1 with ensuite. The lounge didn't have the floor to ceiling windows we had in the first apartment instead we had a 75 storey building blocking our view of the beach. I did complain but was offered free breakfast for which I had paid for when I booked. "Seriously unprofessional answer"
The corridors smelt like garbage, the pools were dirty, the rooms were not cleaned properly and the staff while friendly shared the same lifts as the guests as there are no service lifts. We would often wait 5 minutes for a lift.
This was not worth the money I paid and the Hilton need to seriously look at putting their name on a hotel like this. Not a hilton experience and certainly not an upgrade for a big inconvenience while on holidays.

Dear Andy F,

Thank you for your review, I was sorry to see that there were some shortcomings in relation to the air conditioning and washing machine. I have discussed this with the engineering team and also your concerns regarding housekeeping so that we can ensure that we work to improve what we do. I apologise for the inconvenience owing to moving apartments caused.

Stayed during 24 -31 Jan 2013. (2 adults and 3 teenage boys)
• We phoned ahead to request bag drop of as we arrived at 10am and check-in are 3pm.
• On arrival greeted by friendly, professional staff.
• Room was immediately available at 10am and upgraded from 2 to 3 bed apartment (FANTASTIC AS NO CHARGE)
• 34th floor apartment was unbelievable with 180 degree views of the sea, city and beyond. Both day and night views were truly awesome.
• Apartment was very spacious, immaculately clean and fully furnished to a very high standard. We have a 5 bed house and the Hilton 3 bed apartment was very comfortable in size.
• Beds were very comfortable, lounge and master bed TV's, 3 sofas, en-suite, washer, dryer, dishwasher, oven, cook top with all the necessary accessories to eat in if required.
• Very friendly cleaning staff maintained apartment daily.
• This was the first time we missed nothing from home as you normally do on any holiday. Our eldest son commented it was very homely and we completely agreed. Could have stayed a month.
• Highly recommended and we would all love to go back

Had a 1 night night stay earlier this week. Got a great Secret Hotel deal through lastminute.com.au. Can't stop talking about the luxurious bathroom, hollywood style glam in the heart of Surfers. Check in staff where super helpful and the underground parking so convenient. Just a couple of things - gap under our door on the 10th was quiet large therefore we could hear everything in the foyer outside our room. Secondly, coffee in the lobby coffee shop was way too hot !

I recently stayed at the Hilton Surfers Paradise for my partners birthday. I just wanted to say how extremely disappointed I was upon arrival to the hotel. When booking the holiday I was lead to believe that the room I was booking was all glass and had crystal clear ocean views...but this was not the case. We arrived at approximately 9am and asked for an early arrival, in which we paid an extra $25 which was fine at the time. We made our way to the room which was on the 7th floor. As soon as we got into our room, we got a shock. The views in this case were of air conditioning units on top of other buildings with absolutely no ocean views what so ever, the walls had dents in it and marks as well. We called reception and stated how we weren't happy with our room...the receptionist saying 'sorry there's not much we can do about that, call back later'. We weren't happy with this response at all, so we made our way back down to check in, and stated that this room was in no state for someone to stay in it. Reception were a lot nicer this time round and told us to come back at 3pm as this is when another 'better' room would be ready for us. We left the hotel and entertained ourselves until 3pm when we got a phone call from the hotel asking us to come back at 5pm...two hours after we were originally meant to check in. We agreed, simply because we thought that we were lucky enough to be upgraded into another better room with ocean views. 5pm came and we moved our bags on our own to our new room...to find that this room had limited ocean views and still was not the one that we had originally booked. We went back down to reception and we were told that the room we thought we were booking (the photos we were given/provided on the website) were of the 'relaxation suite' which wasn't even an option on the website when we were booking the room. I am extremely disappointed as we were lead to believe that we were booking for this 'relaxation suite' as shown in the photo's provided on the website when booking. The marketing team needs to change a lot of things as false advertising is against the law, and most definitely a strong disappointment when a lot of excitement is built up before the trip, only to be let down upon arrival. Thank you for promising a room that wasn't even an option to purchase and thank you for getting mine and my partners hope's up. Will not be staying at this hotel again, and will not recommend it to anyone.

Dear Mia P,

Thank you for your review, I appreciate the sentiment of your feedback and would assure you that we take your feedback seriously. Each room category in the hotel and apartments have photographs on our brand website that are representative of the amenities of the room. Reservations are made on the basis of booking the room type preferred. Depending on the room type booked (standard, deluxe, executive room etc) , rooms offer various views of which a description is provided, for example hinterland, partial ocean view or ocean view. Not being sure what website was used to book the property, it is typical that a reservation confirmation would have been received detailing the room type booked.

Best regards,

Chris Partridge

We stayed at the Gold Coast Hilton for three nights and the overall experience was amazing. Th experience was so great that we extended our stay by one night. When we checked in the check in agent saw my gold status and upgraded to a suite on 13th floor with an amazing view. with access to concierge lounge. The breakfast and evening drinks and hors d'oeuvre were so good that you could skip dinner. The hotel is located at the heart of Surfer's Paradise with restaurants and shops. It's party central. If you are looking for a quiet neighborhood this is not your hotel. This is in the middle of a very lively scene. WE loved it. The staff was excellent in all parts of the hotel: front desk, house keeping as well as the staff in the concierge lounge.

The negative was it didn't have an all day dining restaurant. Although given all the restaurant choices all around it didn't matter.
