I stayed in this hotel for a convention for some days. It's really a good holiday place to stay. Unfortunately the weather conditions at that time haven't been that ideal anymore. Otherwise you can reach the beach in some minutes by walk and swim in the pacific ocean.
The resort hotel has no club lounge. Discussing about this issue with the hotel manager, she sent me a package of local beers to the room together with an ice cooler as a complimentary gift from the hotel. This was suprising me very much.
The hotel room is nice and illuminated. The bathroom is very comfortable. The view the sea beach is great.
All in all a good hotel with good service.

We were looking for a relaxing getaway after the birth of our 6 month old baby and was so happy to have chosen Marriott resort. We went with four kids aged 10,8,3 and 6 mths with grandma to help out. I recommend upgrading to the Elandra club level as you can eat and drink pretty much all day, so handy when kids get hungry at all times of the day and you just can't keep on waiting 45 mins for room service or lug everyone to a restaurant. Breakfast at the club was excellent, snacks divine, juices and drinks all top quality and the happy hour of alcoholic drinks in the evening was much appreciated by dad! The crownIes went down well!the best part of the resort is the pool with tropical fish. For the full five days we were there, the kids did not whinge about being bored or wanting to go visit the "worlds". They were so fascinated by the fish, they snorkeled for hours! Hint: buy a set of snorkels and mask for each child before you go for around $13 Target, instead of hiring it there for $10 a day. Best investment ever!for the little ones I bought a little blowup boat so they didn't have to stay wet all the time but could float around in the pool all day with us. Meals, service, rooms were excellent and minor issues were very quickly and efficiently rectified. Will definitely stay there every time we visit GC.

I have stayed at the Marriott 4 times now, & been there for functions 6 times, It was probably my Favourite Romantic Getaway Motel, until our last stay in October, Although I still love the Motel, I was extremely disappointed by the unfriendly treatment we had from a few staff. I am a Rewards Member, although that seems to mean nothing.
On check in it appeared Marriott system messed up the details on my Rewards card, putting it into someone else's name, their mistake, but this resulted in us being treated like criminals by the staff member checking us in,our Licences were photo copied, without our permission, all done in front of our friends & other quests .!
Other Staff at the Desk even recognised us from previous visits!
We own a company , I would fire Staff they treated our customers this way !!!
Unfortunately This left a bad taste in our mouths for the whole weekend.
I suggest you Re Train staff on how to always make Guests Feel welcome & important, & how to deal politely with issues..
Some other staff also a little unfriendly, Staff at the Japanese Restaurant always Lovely!..
I will try somewhere else for a while .

Beautiful hotel, gardens and pool. Especially loved the pool - being able to snorkel with the fish in the salt water pool was the best. Also great waterslide, spa waterfall etc. You could just sit and watch the world go by in such a beautiful environment or swim, snorkel, swim. Great for children of all ages. A 5 minute walk from a patrolled beach. About 10 minutes walk to surfers paradise shopping (supermarket, restaurants etc) - about 15 minutes to Cavill avenue. Far enough away from the centre of Sufers to be quiet but not too far to walk to the shops. A few shops about 5 minutes walk - mini mart etc. We hardly wanted to leave the hotel once we got there. Loved it!

My wife and I, together with our 16 months old son stayed there from 8th to 12th Feb 2010. It was the beginning of our 8 days Queensland tour, and the tour was to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We were hesitating between Marriott and Sheraton Mirage, as we are SPG members and all our past stays with Starwoods were good. But after reading a lot of reviews, we finally chose Marriott, and we were not disappionted!

We wanted to book an ocean view room, but they were fully booked. We even called the hotel directly to see if there would be any ocean view room available during our stay, but the result was the same. So we booked a mountain view room. Guess what? When we checked in, we were told that we were upgraded to an ocean view room! What a great surprise! And the view from our balcony was fantastic! It had a view of the entire pools and part of ocean too. I must say the room was a bit dated, but we liked it much, even our 16 months old baby liked it much, kept on walking around the room happily and exploring every corner.

By the way, we got the sand package from their website, which means you stay for 4 nights but only pay for 3, plus a AUD$50 dining credit. We think it was a bargain! We took up the breakfast package upon check-in, I think it is cheaper than booking together with room stay. We liked to sit beside the windows when having breakfast every morning, and our son could see birds flying in the garden from his high chair!

Just one incident...One day our toilet was stuck and we told the reception when we left for tour. When we returned 4 hours later, it was still stuck. Then we had to call the housekeeping again to get it done.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay there and all the staff we met were very friendly. We will definitely go back once we have the opportunity.

Marriott Surfers Paradise must have been an amazing hotel to stay in when she opened; sadly it has been let go and we felt was in desperate need of renovations (apparently been "on hold" for a few years). The public areas are elegant (acres of marble, swinging rattan fans, a tropical garden & oasis pools), At the time of stay, the rooms however were scruffy, chipped paint work, rusted window frames, old fashioned CRT televisions (unchanged when colleagues stayed there this year). We chose the hotel based on the reasonable room rate, but that it was a little off the beaten track in terms of location (OK with car/bus/taxi). Also, we couldn't stomach the very high prices in the food areas, and chose to eat at the much more reasonably priced 5 star restaurants nearby.

Spent two nights at the Marriott Surfers Paradise Resort for a conference. Amazing foyer with large cane ceiling fans and beautiful orchids everywhere, outdoor pool area with own (artificial) beach, caves and lagoon-like series of pool all in a lovely tropical garden - with a real lizard! Very spacious room with walk in wardrobe and massive bathroom - lovely view. I've never wanted to go to the Gold Coast before but from this hotel, it all seemed so gorgeous I just might go back. One thing - if you go for business - bring a swimming costume/bikini otherwise you will just have to look longingly at the pool and beach - just like I did!
