“Fantastic all round”
Reviewed 1 September 2012

I stayed for 10 days at the QT Gold Coast and it was a great stay. The atmosphere and the staff were friendly and nothing was too hard for them. Being part of a large conference, they also helped me with admin stuff i needed to get done at midnight.

Shaun at Cafe Fixx did fix the best cafe latte; the concierges were wonderful; the banquet staff so helpful and amazing; and the food was just so yummy. The staff at Spa Q were great.

The location is great - just a block away from the beach.

All in all, I would definitely go back to this hotel

I fell in love with QT Gold Coast. The interior is innovative, fresh and fun, right down to the dorky glasses and braces (suspenders) on the concierge.
The communal spaces are bright and colourful, Stingray (the main bar) was a fun place to be on a Sunday night, with ok cocktails and cool music.
The room was not huge, but really tastefully decorated in a clean black and white palette with bright sparks of colour. The mix-your-own lemonade welcome in the room was fantastic and the kitsch accessories and small touches (such as flip flops for the pool) were also brilliant. There was also a fab view from the room of the beach.

We loved it so much, we booked the QT Port Douglas as a follow up!

This hotel is fantastic, fresh decor, great meals and the staff are friendly and energetic. Location is great, close to the beach and Cavill Ave, but far enough away to not be disturbed. Great facilities, only downside is the charge for wifi, Aussie hotels need to catch up on that. Will definitely stay here again when visiting the Gold Coast.

The QT hotel reminds of the Westin W - a bit funky and sassy. With the W this is a natural takeaway for any guest who is fortunate to spend the night.

Decor - different
Bed - too soft
Amenities - ok but no free wifi
Hospitality - free home-made lemonade

However at QT at times it feels they are trying too hard. I like the hotel and wouldn't want to discourage anyone fom going, the true test is will this establishment 'age' well?

Only time will tell

the outside of this hotel is not very impressive but once you walk through the doors and are greeted by the immaculately presented staff in their jumpsuites and the funky retro foyer you know its not going to be another generic hotel. The room was a comfortable size overlooking the ocean with a huge soft king bed. The bathroom was well thought out and all spaces where utilised to make it a comfortable and functional apartment. Oh and I have to make a special mention about the towels-So thick and fluffy. However on the downside there where no chairs on the balconies and the sound of the exhaust 7 floors down made it impossible to leave the balcony door open, unless of course you like the sound of the continous humm. Oh and a tip, if they forget to give you your free lemonade (which they did for us).make sure you call up and ask! it was delicious-as was the bazaar restaurant and the room service. Ill definitely be back!

Room Tip: ask for a higher floor away from the exhaust of the restuarant downstairs

I stayed at the QT for a conference and I have to say, it was awesome! The staff were easy to work with and no "airs" which is always refreshing. The rooms were immaculate and lived up to my expectations. The welcome lemonade (made with fresh squeezed lemons) was a fabulous idea and to top it off the decor is fabulous.

If I had to nominate one thing in the whole stay that marred my enjoyment, it would be the sauce on everything in the room service. I'm a sauce free girl :) And the burgers are really spicy which wasn't clearly marked on the menu. Other than that thee are no complaints here.

This hotel has gone to the top of our Gold Coast stays list. We will definitely be back!

I was really looking forward to staying here based on other reviews and the website photos. The foyer and decor certainly lived up to expectations. Very impressive. The room was great. Good size, nice decor, great views and a dirty toilet! The one thing above all else that every hotel room regardless of price should deliver is a clean toilet. This one looked completely overlooked by housekeeping after the previous occupants! The other bugbear is the elevators. We literally waited 15 minutes for an elevator to head down for dinner. There are 4 in the building but only 2 were being used. Three times the doors opened but were completely packed. We actually thought about taking the stairs (from the 10th floor) but decided to take the empty elevator heading up so that we were guaranteed a spot coming down! We also had an annoying knocking noise coming from the ceiling above our ensuite. It literally went all night every 60 seconds or so..lucky we were too tired to have it keep us awake. On the other hand the staff at reception were friendly and the complementary lemonade a nice touch. Comfy bed, great mini bar selections (the nespresso machine is a nice touch but charging $3.50 is a bit rich especially when no instant coffee is on offer. Parking was good value.

Room Tip: Ocean views are nice but from what we saw of the other rooms, views in all directions are good!
