“Fantastic, modern and affordable”
Reviewed 13 August 2014 via mobile

Great hotel, I have stayed here before and will continue to do so. I only had a couple of issues - whenever you call room service you go through to reception who says they will get room service to call you back - I waited almost half an hour once or twice. However, the food is exceptional. I would have loved to try the restaurants but just couldn't convince myself to spend $70+ each on one dinner. Just too much for me. Otherwise the hotel is lovely, quirky and fun! Not to mention the rooms are affordable and nice! (No bath in my room though :( )

Stayed in QT last week. Was emailed an upgrade offer for $40 a day 2 days before I was due there which I accepted but subsequently they emailed me that it was not available - a bit silly to offer it in the first place. The room was adequate but not lavish. The bathroom was small. But the highlight was the food. Breakfast was as extensive in choice as the best 5 star hotels overseas and the evening buffet was just as expansive in choice with numerous cuisine alternatives. The bar/nightclub was good and the staff were all very friendly and assisting. The outdoor balcony attached to the bedroom was a pleasant addition.

Room Tip: Get a balcony room and ask for a room with bigger bathroom.

Fantastic ocean view, whale watching from the balcony. Only negative was the air con only had cool which isn't ideal in winter but fine when turned off. Have stayed in other hotels on gc but due to their lack of cleanliness and poor customer service we will only go back to qt! Well done

This is not your norm for hotel experience! The retro theme is as wonderful as is the staff and service. Free bikes to cycle the wonderful beach side paths. All rooms with balcony's with superb mountain or ocean views. Old International hotel converted. Bathrooms on the small side, only fits one person at time...unless one is showering (some slight mould should be attended to)! The Stingray Bar is the new place to be in downtown Surfers and the Baazar Restaurant is a spectacular buffet and well priced at $70 for 3 courses.

Room Tip: Ocean View room above 9th floor

A nice edition to Surfers Paradise. The interior looks great since being turned into QT from GCI. Room is a good size, and nicely furnished. Has plenty of little things you can buy from the room; I assume as a way to curb 'freebies'. Price is pretty standard for accommodation in Australia; and no free wifi which again is standard. Only complaint the weird bedside lamp that appeared to lack an off switch, had to cover it with towels to sleep. Some interesting uniforms for the staff too.

QT is a little slice of heaven! From the moment I walked through the door to check in I was sold on thinking I'd made the best life decision, ever!

The check-in experience was astonishing: Hannah (hope I have her name right) was upbeat and joyous and got me excited to experience QT, a complete knock-out but still with a great personality.

The decor of QT is, in a few words: Perfectly quirky! The room we were in was a brilliant blend of industrial and soft designs.

The only downfall was the squeakyness of the, otherwise incredibly comfortable, bed. Bow-chicka-wah-wah time took some creative thinking.. Speaking of the shower! It was huge. and the cleverly constructed bathrooms don't take up too much room.

I'm very impressed with the QT and will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: Try to get an oceanview room, the mountain views are interrupted by the Mantra.

This is a fun, quirky, retro themed hotel. There's a lot of parking and the location is good with the beach a really short walk away. The staff uniforms carried on the retro theme, but we weren't entirely sure who was staff and who were guests at times... the female staff uniform is basically beachwear!

The room was a decent size with a small balcony. If you fancy a shock, read through the price list for purchasing items from the mini-bar or the room features such as the tray, parrot lamp or scented candle.

Plans for a quiet night in with a bottle of wine and American Hustle on rental didn't really work out as they were out of the wine we chose and the movie wouldn't play and the situation couldn't be fixed by the staff member who came to look into this for us.

The bathroom was clean and carried on the retro theme, but the shower temperature varied between scalding or freezing, changing at random while you used it!

Glad we only had one night in Surfer's.
