“Cheap&cheerful”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 July 2012

Reasonable rates but very basic and a fair bit of noise when street noisy eg car hoons or loud buskers or drumming from local Turkish(?) restaurant. Close to everything, squash court fun, generally clean.

Stayed here with my fiance just for a weekend. We dis only want something cheap and close to Cavall Ave.

The reception friendly and helpful.

The room is old. Has an old tv which sucks when you wanted to bring a arddrive to watch movies and stuff. You have a fridge. The bed wasnt the comfiest. The bathroom is old and small.

Its only a 2 min walk to main strip, cavall ave. Which is good. Our first night was quiet but secons being a saturday was noisy with all the party goers and drinkers. If u want a cheap hotel ONLY to sleep in, then its perfect, but id pay a littlw more and stay elsewhere. And ita definately not a resort!!!!

We stayed for 2 nights on the weekend & were happy with the cleanliness & location. The staff are friendly & helpful, the rooms are old but clean & the location is central to everything. The noise from the street is pretty bad but that's what you get when you stay around the party area of Surfers. We were happy with the accommodation & if we needed to stay on a tight budget, we'd stay there again in the future.

The best part about this hotel is its convenient location to both beaches and shops. The flip side is it's SUPER NOISY!!!! The walls are basically non sound-proof at all, not even the ceiling! I can hear neighbors talking and walking!!! There are few entertainment places around the corner and you can hear people making noises pretty much all over the night. It would be a good choice if you are here to party and you are a heavy sleeper, otherwise, there are heaps better options across the street and along the coastline.
There is nothing to say about the interior settings, it's quite standard, except the super small bathroom.

Hi, I stayed here for 1 week from the 9th May.with a friend in a one bedroom apartment. We found this hotel verygood value and in a great location. Our apartment was clean and the beds comfortable. we were lucky to get on the 9th floor. The apartment had everything that you needed. The only thing i felt it need a brighter light in the bedroom. Yes the hotel is older than alot of the apartments on the Gold Coast but usually you are not there for most of the days anyway.Having stayed in several other types of accomdation on the Gold Coast i thought this compared just as well as some of the expensive ones. If you paid 5 star prices well then you would be disappointed but for the location and price you can't go wrong.I would certainly stay here again and would recommend this to my friends. The Islander says that they are a 3 star place and offer good, clean accomdation and they are true to their word. The Reception staff were helpful too..

Room Tip: We had room 98 aaand it also had a large balcony
