This was our second visit with grandchildren. We are raising grandchildren 24/7 so the Kids club is a real bonus. We like the location because we can walk to the CBD. The resort had everything we wanted for two primary school age children. The best part of the resort (for us) is the Kids club. Our bed (queen) was "very tired". The bathroom also is becoming "tired". Staff were very helpful. We appreciated the fact that 3 times our granddaughter's sheets were changed because of her having a blood nose during the night. We are planning on returning with our grandchildren.

We stayed here for 3 nights mid week for $95 per night for the basic room. As soon as we got to the hotel unpacking the boot my daughter fell down a drain that runs behind the cars in the carpark not covered about 40cm deep and has a nasty bruise from it. The Manager called twice to check to make sure she was alright. The room is very basic and small but you don't really spend much time in the room anyway. You hear every noise in the room from the doors slaming and the kids running up the hallways so dont expect to sleep in past 6am. The Z4K is great for the kids but you have to book the kids in early or they won't get in as it gets full quick. I would never eat at Sinbad's restaurant again! It is over priced and the food was horrible and we were very disappointed for the price. We went for breakfest at PANCAKES IN PARADISE located in Surfers 5 minutes drive It was excellent and great value for money. Overall the resort is great for familys with small children and I would stay again.

This was the best family resort i've been. The Z4K was great. My 5 yr Old loved it and wanted to go there. The activities were age appripriate. Also my 8 month old was very well looked after by the staff. It was the first time I left her with someone else, and they have been looking after her well. Her big brother was also allowed to visit her a couple of times during the sessions.

This is a must for any working family with little kids

We made the last minute decision to go up to Surfers Paradise Easter Thursday. We booked through wotif and stayed Friday night. We were so happy we did.Ou kids were 2 months and 19 months and they went to kids club that night so my husband and self could go out for dinner. The markets were on so we strolled along the beach and looked at them then went and had a lovely meal on Cavill child free. Or 19 month old then went back to kids club the next morning while we had breakfast and packed up the room. The kids club is free of charge for one use a day and the room was only $140 for the night,on Easter weekend we were thrilled. I would reccommend this place for anyone with children. They staff are so helpful and friendly.

Together with my wife and 3 year old daugher, I have just returned from a two night long-weekend stay at the "Paradise Resort".

Like the vast majority of their clientele, we chose the "Resort" (and note the inverted commas) based on their "Zone 4 Kids" kids club. Having previously enjoyed a kids club in Fiji, our daughter was looking forward to one session a day (included in the package) and we were looking forward to a quiet meal of an evening.

The important question is this - if you take away the kids club, are you left with a reasonable offering?

The answer is a very straightforward "absolutely not".

The rooms are small, old, poorly kept, only passingly clean and without either style or functionality. The "superior" pool facing rooms are, as you might expect from the name, noisy and annoying.

So, does the kids club make up for the below average accommodation?

The answer to that depends on your personal opinion - do you like your kids? If that answer to that question is "no", you're on a winner here.

the "Zone 4 Kids" is in the basement of the hotel. It was previously a nightclub - and some of the facilities reflect that. There is but a small outdoor area, so don't expect a great deal of "fun in the sun" for attendees. The place has an aroma that might well be used by the CIA in interogation operations. Entertainment options seem to focus on the babysitter of the 21st century - television. Staff are friendly enough, but not particularly engaged with their charges.

In summary, the accommodation is poor, the kids club is poor and their is significantly greater value to be had elsewhere on the Gold Coast.

Our recommendation? Get yourself an apartment hotel (there are mountains of them) and hire a babysitter for the 3 hours a day "kids club" experience - there are a number of agencies operating in the area.
