“Loved it, hoping to come back again soon”
Reviewed 28 February 2011

We just spent 4 nights here as part of a deal with Jetstar.
Cannot recommend the place highly enough - so well set up for families with children.
Positives:
great staff;
rooms have Foxtel with kids channels and sport;
Childcare - kids loved every minute of it;
good kids' activities;
Saturday night show (Polynesian dancing) was fun;
reasonably priced and well-stocked shop and bar;
good location for beaches and Surfers CBD with bus stop right outside;
4 clean and warm swimming pools; and
reasonable eateries.

Only mild negatives were a bit of corridor noise and would have been good if the second bedroom had air con rather than just a fan.
Overall great to be able to relax and drop the kids off at childcare, where they have fun and get fed and cleaned as required.

Thank you for the great feedback! We do love it when people get to make the most of their stay here and take advantage of the facilities and entertainment. I do take on board your comments regarding the 2nd room in the Family room not being air conditioned and only having a fan- i will pass this onto our owners for their consideration and future planning.
Kind regards

I went to this resort with my expectations a little high due to the way the website it set out. It was a little dated but it is a resort for families with children. I was a little let down to be told when we arrived that the adventure playground was closed, this was not on the website prior to booking or before we left to travel to Qld. We have two small children and this would have been good to have for something different to do. The staff in the creche were good although it would have been good to see the same staff on the morning session consecutively so the young children got used to the same carer. The location of the resort was fantastic it was within close proximity to the beach which we used regularly and only a short walk to town. Although I have written a few negative things we actually enjoyed our stay and we would stay there again probably just in a bigger room.

We have just returned from this resort and the only good thing about it was the kids club, in our package we got 1 x 4 hour session free everyday which was great. The resort itself is very run down and could do with a huge make over. Entertainment wise well there wasn't any.
We tried to sit on our balcony while our 2 children had afternoon sleeps and could only do so for about 10 mins as it was just way to hot due to the aircon unit sitting on there.
Overall experience of this place was average and we will NOT be going back or will I recommend people to go there.

Dear Kyliecharlie
Thank you for your feedback. I am dissapointed to read that entertainment was lacking - our activity team offers free activities daily, and the weekends are especially jam packed with the free Polynesian show or Fire spectacular, poolside entertainment (usually a singer guitarist), plus the regular activities. Is it just that these particular activities didn't suit or were you not made aware of them on check in? i would really appreciate some specific feedback from you to help us improve our offering to our guests.
In regards to the resort being run down - while our buildings are older, we do place a great deal of effort into maintaining them and our owners are continually working on improvements starting with the new Adventure Playground, which opens today. More works are in the pipeline and we do hope that you might return to experience them. On a more positive note, I am pleased that you were able to use the free 4 hour Zone 4 kids sessions each day.
Should you wish to offer some specific information on the entertainment program please email me directly on sm_director@paradiseresort.com.au
Sincerely

If you are looking for quiet and very modern then don't go to Paradise resort. This is a 100% family orientated resort. I just can't get over some of the negative comments that are made! What do some people expect when holidaying at a kids resort? This is not the first time we have been to Paradise and it certainly won't be the last. We travel all over the world with our kids (now aged 8 and 6). so we are certainly not indicative of a "low class" family. For goodness sake, previous poster, people from all walks of life have tattoos!

Anyway, we arrived at the resort to smiling faces and a clean lobby. Unfortunately we weren't able to have the room we requested this time, but got one equally as good. Our room was clean and tidy as was the rest of the resort as we walked around. The pool was full and it was noisy.. good noisy, lots of kids and parents having fun. I always think something is wrong if kids aren't laughing and being noisy when playing. We unpacked our bags and went down to the cafe where we ordered dinner. The food was excellent. You have to try the pizza!. Things have changed a bit since our last visit but everything is still great.We've been here 3 days of 12 now, and I certainly have no complaints about anything. The kids are loving the kids club and the staff are all awesome with my special needs child. Just remember when you are booking that it is a kids/family resort. If you want quiet and Hyatt or Marriott standards then book there. Paradise is not the place for you. If you want a fun filled vacation, where there is plenty of stuff for the kids to do and plenty of family activities then this is the place for you. 10/10 from us again

They have a few different pools for the kids, which they loved. The kids club is great - the kids had a great time, which we were able to have some time on our own to relax. It was a very nice hotel, very friendly staff always willing to help and always smiling. Will definitely be staying there again!

Our family went for 7 days mainly for our 7 year old daughter. The room was clean and no problems with it at all. The staff in the kids club were okay not overly friendly or helpful nor were they rude. Be aware of what you get in your package. We had the package that had 2 free sessions a day (which is great). It does allude that lunch is included. At checkout, we were told that we had to pay for lunch which was $5, I wouldn't mind paying it, but my daughter hardly ever ate what they had, that also claim to provide morning tea of fruit salad, milk arrowwheat biscuits and milk. This was never provided. The dinners were fine - no problem there.

The best time to swim is definitely in the morning, as the afternoon becomes chaotic and makes swimming not pleasurable for the little ones.

They let themselves down with the restaurant - for a buffet it is way too expensive. Could go elsewhere and eat a lot cheaper. The pizza's in the cafe were great and enjoyable.

The shop is well stocked and well priced.

Overall, it is a okay resort, it could do things a lot better.

Spent 5 days at the resort which included xmas day, the buffet meal was fantastic, well worth the money.
Despite the rain our grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed themselves, we found ways to entertain ourselves daily which included visiting theme parks, sight seeing & shopping.
Having visited Paradise resort in the past it was great knowing what was available & the children joined in on activities & swam alot.
The Polynesian night was a great hit & I would thoroughly recommend all guests to attend, costumes were gorgeous as well as the entertainers.
