Silverton Holiday Apartments
Reviewed 27 August 2013

Stayed at silverton apartments for 4 nights with my son this was part of a package deal including flights. I got rm 64 level 11 this apartment needs some attention the paint is peeling off, stains on curtains, blood stain on bedding, sofa was peeling. Toilet seat broken, washer missing of hot water tap, blinds broken. Basically stains on all walls.

The bed was comfortable. This was about all I can rate as been good...

The young guy at reception looked like he didn't want to be there.

I would prefer to stay somewhere else next time.. The promotional pictures are very misleading this is more like a 3 star complex ...

We stayed in room 13 on the 2nd floor and it was clean, bed comfy and well stocked kitchen. Over-looking the river so away from the noise of the busy Gold Coast Highway. I guess these apartments are privately owned so it suppose it's a bit of a gamble which owner you get. The only down side was this apartment has a really small balcony. We had a flickering light in the lounge & the guy came up & replaced it, no problem. The young reception guy gave the impression he didn't really want to be there but we weren't staying in the reception. These are apartments so not serviced & you need to supply your own tea/coffee, toilet roll when the initial supply runs out. We can't understand why so many people mention the inability to turn right. This, and many others, are on a dual carriageway with a solid median strip. We didn't see ANY that you could turn right from.
All in all a good stay at a really good price (late August). Also for "hidden charges" You sign on check-in to say you will wash dishes & remove rubbish on check-out or they charge $50. It's very clear!!

Stayed 2 nights, room was spacious but everything was old and musty. Kitchen tools and toilet was dirty. Checked out with a clean room only left sealed bags of garbage next to their tiny bin - only to get an email to charge an extra $50aud the day after! When I was checking out the reception was trying to charge cleaning fees to another poor Japanese guest over the phone. Only stay here if you want to pay hidden fees!

During booking we have asked for Heating in all rooms, LCD tv etc....But when we checked in an hour ago, we found that there are no heating available in any room. We reported the same to the reception, they informed that manager will come and have a look.
The manager did come and said he will not help us and threw the heater in front of us and left the room.

We are totally dissatisfied with the service and the approach of the manager who is suppose to resolve the conflict. Rather, he ill treated us by throwing the heater on the floor, which is really humiliating.

For the next few weeks you can expect to hear power tools vibrating through and consuming the entire complex..it starts at 7.55 sharp every morning and will continue non stop until mid afternoon....dont want to bag the place because its ok (but dont pay to much because it genuine 2 1/2)......just doing you all a community service

First impressions - very good on arrival. Very spacious 2 bedroom apartment with separate large dining, kitchen and loungeroom. Price was very good at $122 per night. Views of Nerang River were good. However, couldn't get the air conditioner to turn on and wifi port not obtainable on our floor (11th), pool not heated as specified on website and ensuite bathroom was in need of a paint job and repair with tile coming out in shower and towel rail falling down. There was also renovations going on with loud banging in rooms above and next to us which caused some sleep issues.

Room Tip: High floor gave us a good vantage point but not good for wifi

I believe they recently made a lot of changes lately as We had a very clean and Lovely rooom with great views and friendly and helpful staff assistance on hand when needed.
I must admit after seeing the reviews on Tripadvisor I was not looking forward to staying there with my family of 7 but as others like me previously I had already Booked on the website and had no avenue out, So on the week we arrived we were welcomed immediately by the front of house staff and given our keys to our room we did not know what to expect but to our amazement our room was wonderful and Clean and we enjoyed all the facilities they had to offer eg, Pool, Tennis court, Games room for the Kids and we were not far from the major shopping outlets at all.
We were all left with Smiles from ear to ear Good move Silverton "I guess you do read these reviews" keep up the good work and thanks for the Great Stay.
