“Just don't get the end rooms!”
Reviewed 25 August 2011

Overall the hotel was pretty good. The rooms where clean and had everything you needed. Just out of the surfers paradise rat race but do yourself a big favour don't get a room that faces the Gold Coast Highway. All rooms have an ocean view and we had room on the 11th floor. I don't think they have double glazing because you could here everything which made sleeping almost impossible.

We stayed here a couple of times a few years ago and liked the place, so when a show we wanted to see was not far away, where else would we stay? Yes the decor is a bit dated and yes the rooms are a bit tired, but as a hotel to stay for a few days it is still up there with much more expensive choices! We had a comfortable, relaxed and enjoyable stay and we couldn't ask for more than that! The location is good as well, being close to various shops (no interest to us however), the casino (where the show was), the beach (again, limited interest for us) and the route to the mountains is convenient (nice up there!). The staff are friendly and efficient. We would stay here again!

I stayed here while on a 5 day conference. The room was very well maintained and spacious. I was in a standard room. The bathroom was equally spacious. I had views of the ocean and the hinterland even though the hotel is 1 block away from the beach. It was a 10 minute walk to the Gold Coast Convention Centre and a 20 minute walk to the main drag at Surfers Paradise. I found it very convinient and it was quiet and peaceful. The gym was adequate and the pool area good. The hotel is a little dated but none the less presents well. The staff are very helpful and while there were 2 small maintenance issues, they were apologetic and resolved them immediately. I did not eat here, as meals were all organised by the conference I attended. It is a perfect stop especially if you are on business. Perhaps not quite the romantic get away type of place to stay. By the way a taxi from Gold Coast Airport costs about $52.00 and the bus $6.90. There is a bus stop right next to the hotel. Takes about 30 - 35 minutes.

This is the second time me and my fiancé have stayed here and both times we have been impressed. Because we had stayed here prior our room was upgraded and we were given free drinks, which was a lovely touch.

All the staff are friendly and willing to help with anything possible. We chose this hotel because of the location. Situated half way between Surfers and Broadbeach, it is in a quiet area. And a 15-20 minute walk to both did not faze us.

The rooms were spacious and very clean. The bed was super comfortable. The ocean view is lovely and romantic (my fiancé proposed on the balcony there 2 years ago). The buffet breakfast was delicious. Only problem was there was too much choice so I ate it all.

A great stay at a wonderful and friendly hotel. I would come back again. Especially since on checkout we got to see Billy Slater as Melbourne Storm were staying there. A great ending to a great weekend.

We were impressed with size of our room, big, clean, modern decoration, comfy bed, floor to ceiling marble tiles, BIG spa and unobstructed view of the ocean from private balcony.
Fantastic buffet breakfast especially on Sunday. We couldn't fault any from the moment we checked in. Complimentary undercover parking, close to all amenities and great food.

We only stayed one night here but straight away we loved it. It is not all glass and modern fixtures but rather has a classic elegance. We stayed in what was I think the King bed Spa room in the Gold Tower. The room was beautiful and very well designed. There was a separate open wardrobe space which made it so easy for arranging your luggage and clothes etc. The bed was great and it had a large TV for watching straight from the bed. There was also a table and chairs. The bathroom was large and classic marble with spa, separate shower and separate toilet room. As I said before the facilities are not new but well kept and spotlessly clean. As in most hotels the internet was too expensive to consider - when will we catch up with other countries and also smaller motels etc who seem to be able to offer it free! Our only disappointment at The Crowne was the Revolving restaurant - I had always wanted to go there but now that I've been I would not wish to return. The food was your typical RSL buffet style Aussie Asian ( actually no slight on the clubs intended) and the view not all that spectacular unless you actually get the table near the window which we didn't as the tables for couples are on the inner circle. We wouldn't dine here again but would definitely stay and eat in the bar. Breakfast buffet was quite good but not exceptional. Overall a very pleasant stay!

Room Tip: Stay in Gold Tower

Another great Crowne Plaza Hotel. The rooms are clean, spacious and well appointed. The four winds revolving restaurant was fantastic as were all the staff from check in right through to the bar and restaurant. Buffet Breakfast in Relish was divine... so much choice and such great quality. This had to be one of the two best buffet breakfasts that I have had and I stay at a lot of hotels each year. Excellent parking facilities and great hotel services make this the place to stay on the Gold Coast. You are abut five minutes to the city centre so you don't get any of that late night noise. Also had dinner at the Sirocco restaurant at Holiday Inn which is also worth going out for... only make sure you have dinner at Four Winds or you will be missing out.

My only minor issue was that staying over the Easter Weekend was that Relish Restaurant introduced a new menu. It's prices were quite high so we didn't end up having dinner there.

Overall, a great stay and I look forward to returning. Special mention must go to the bar staff who were fantastic.
