Great hotel just enough away from the sleaze of Surfers, but close enough for restaurants etc right on the border of Broadbeach. Great pools, fantastic breakfasts rooms are a bit tired, but functional. Would definately recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the gold tower.

We stayed here quite cheaply from a Wotif mystery deal. 16th floor room with very nice ocean and Sufers views. The bones of the place are good - you can see it was originally built to a high standard with marble bathroom with spa bath etc but I agree with other posters that the furniture etc is past its use by. The bed was pretty hard - no, its not a Sheraton.
The room was basicly clean. Drawers and cupboards had dust and fluff in them so the cleaners are being pretty cursory.
Front desk staff were polite and efficient, room service brought ice promptly and with a friendly attitude - why the hotel just can't have some ice buckets and ice machines ala USA is beyond me.
Pool area is very nice. Adjoining Tavern was dark but friendly with reasonably prices meals.

Affordable, clean, close to beach. Also away from downtown Surfers Paradise if you want to retreat when you're done for the day/night/morning. Really Broadbeach as opposed to the advertised Surfers Paradise location. Still, we had a car so no dramas. Room was one of the cheapest rates on Hotels.com yet was a large corner room with great views, overlooking pool and palms. Helpful staff and free underground parking. Highly Recommended!

Hotel is really dirty furniture is old and dirty their superior room is a basic motel room that I would rate as a 2 star. Bed had been slept in prior to us arriving and won't tell u what was on the pillow - we had booked a 11 night stay and checked out after the first night.

Hotel staff don't care the hotel needs to be demolished and redone and staff need an overhaul also very rude.

Hotel from hell.

Dear Elena C,
Thank you for your review which I was very disturbed to read.
Please accept my most sincere apologies for the poor housekeeping standards which you experienced.
I would very much appreciate it if you could contact me on david.brown@ihg.com in order to clarify your experience with us. I can assure you I have followed up on your concerns, which clearly do not meet the high standards of cleanliness and hospitality which we aspire to.
Many thanks.

After a stay the previous night in a very rundown "resort", this was a lovely change. The rooms were immaculate and spacious. The staff were friendly and courteous at all times. We had a lovely view from our room and the kitchen and bathroom had all you need and more. You should be aware that the gold tower no longer uses its reception area and that it is quite a walk from one tower to the other. This poses no problem for able bodied people, but was a bit hard for my mother who walks with a frame. My only other slight issue was that the sofa bed, which is a lovely quality leather sofa was very uncomfortable to actually sleep on. All in all though a great place to stay. The revolving buffet restaurant is a must at least once during your stay.

Room Tip: If you are at all disabled, the gold tower is quite a walk to and from the main areas,i.e restaurant...

We just came back from 4 nights weekday break. We booked through holiday club and got 2 nights free with breakfast and discount vouchurs. Hotel is old but neat and clean- and with nice pool areas, one of which was heated. The buffet breakfast and four winds revolving restaurant offer great service and fabulous food. recommend both.

Located a couple of blocks back from beach but only a short walk.

Downside is located on Gold Coast Hwy and road noisy with door open.
They are also doing major road works on Hwy and a lot of the footpath along this section of road has been dug up or is being worked on at present. No very aesthetic to look at and uneven surfaces.

No other shops or restaurant close by, short trip back down to broadbeach or up to surfers.

We requested to change rooms after check-in as windows were filthy and had profanities written into the dust and extra pillows in cupboard also had not been changed with makeup on them. They did move us to another room on a higher floor , though this was smaller.

Housekeeping appeared inconvienienced when they knocked before 9am and we were still in room. Did not replenished shop, shampoo etc every day and clearly do not do a full service each day.

I would not stay if we had to pay full price but was good at half the price! other hotel much nicer for full price.

Room Tip: Ask for room at back of hotel facing Beach Pde. ask for high floor too or you will not have good...

Arrived on the GC way too early and had killed as much time as possible so went to reception at midday (2pm check in) only to be cheerfully greeted with 'checking in today ?' Was so grateful and happy as often an early check in request (at various other hotels) is met with a scowl.

We had a king room with corner spa on the 15th floor and it was faultless. Clean, quiet and with gorgeous ocean views. The highlight would have to be the buffet breakfast, it was xmas day morning and the staff and service was fast and friendly. The food .... simply amazing, hot, fresh and a large variety of dishes.

Xmas dinner was in the Four Seasons revolving restaurant on the 26th floor. While the view was breathtaking unfortunately I think the dinner was a little over booked as there were lengthy waits at the buffet and many dishes had run low or run out. For $120 per head it was a little disappointing.

Parking was easy, the room was quiet, the staff very friendly and would definitely stay there again !!
The hotel is situated between Broadbeach and Surfers and is probably a 10 minute walk to both. There are not a lot of shops/eateries ‘at the door’ but there’s a shell servo across the road for milk, ice etc and a bowling club less than a block away.

Overall it’s the perfect place for a getaway :)

Room Tip: Would need to be higher than the 5th floor for ocean views
