“Great with little issues”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

Quick check in, excellent staff, amazing breakfast and good location.
Unfortunately I called 3 times as the bathroom had mould in the showers, ceilings and behind the sink but no one bothered doing anything. Complained over the phone and at the reception without any response. .
We had one very squeaky bed and the beds were average comfort level for a 4 star hotel.
Breakfast was yum and the pool was nice. Close to beach and away from the craze of surfers paradise.
All in all a good stay

My husband booked on lastminute.com the mystery room. We only stopped over for 1 night on our way to Thailand, we were very impressed when we walked into the lobby clean and friendly staff. Our room was lovely we stayed on the 20th floor in a king ocean veiws spa room, not a single complaint lovely cocktails around the pool.

Spent Easter weekend at the Crowne Plaza, very comfortable room with everything we needed also with a massive bathroom which looked out over Broadbeach (1801). Had breakfast the motel Good Fri Morning which was typical motel buffet nothing special. Although the motel looks abit tired don't let that trouble you would defiantly stay there again. The only real issue that I can think of is the location as it's in the middle between Surfers & Broadbeach so it's a bit of a walk or taxi to get to either. Only a 2 block walk to the beach but the motel also had a very nice pool and spa area. Also worth noting there is a second pool and spa area which is a lot quiter than the main pool. No complaints.

Stayed here for a wedding in February was a lovely small wedding in the chapel at the hotel and the reception being in the gold tower.

Rooms are a bit dated but no that bad stayed on a weekend and the hotel wasn't that busy.

The pool area was very relaxing and enjoyable.

I found breakfast was very expensive and pool drinks were expensive too.

I ordered a kids meal from room service which was great value I ordered the same meal in a non kids meal and there was just a larger serve of side chips but was about $10 more. The kids meals are great value for room service if you're hungry.

Otherwise head to the pub that's attached to the hotel the meal sizes are huge and much better priced than the hotel restaurant.

Check in and out was easy and we had a good located room on a high level with ocean and surfers paradise views.

Only issue we had was the bar fridge didn't work and when we opened it to put our waters in it stunk like garbage juice at first we thought it was coming from the bathroom as you couldn't smell it as soon as you opened the fridge we worked it out when we opened the fridge to get our drinks out and them being warm and the smell returned again.

Reception staff could only offer to us to move into the same room but on a much lower level so we just stayed in our room and dealt with no bar fridge.

Overall the 2 night stay was good the rooms will need an update with its finishings soon as its starting to look tired. For the $210 per night we paid for the room with no breakfast I feel was overpriced for this hotel.

However you can feel like its a well maintained hotel and it reminds me of hotels I stayed at when in surfers on family holidays back in the 90's.

We were thrilled to be given a corner room on the 17th floor with the most amazing views. Check in was seamless and the staff were welcoming. Car parking was free! Our room had a very comfortable king size bed and the air conditioning was easily regulated. A very spacious and airy feel predominated throughout. The bathroom was enormous and had huge windows that afforded both ocean and hinterland views. Windows could be said to be the feature of this room. There was even a large window in the spacious hallway outside the room and within the room they abounded. A small balcony was furnished with small table and chairs.
The hotel has a lovely large free form swimming pool which is not heated, however the Gold Tower has a smaller pool that is heated and all guests may use this pool. For guests visiting in the cooler months this is worth remembering as many hotels do not heat their pools.
The revolving restaurant on the top level is well worth a visit and I recommend you do this for lunch so that you can really appreciate the magnificent views. We were disappointed we went in the evening as of a night time it is not possible to really experience the diverse views the revolving restaurant affords during the day. The seafood buffet was enjoyable, but not amazing. Disappointingly, the service from staff was only very average.
The buffet breakfast was standard, but again staff service was lacking.
This hotel is two blocks and an easy walk back from the beach. When the trams begin running in another month or so there will be a stop outside the hotel and this will allow for quick and easy transport to Pacific Fair, Jupiters, Convention Centre and Surfers Paradise beach.
I can highly recommend this hotel if you take a corner ocean view room and we will definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises.

Room Tip: Corner room with ocean view.

The staff at this hotel were good. The spa bath was a highlight and room service was of a high quality.

However, the interior felt dated and our room's decor was a bit tired. I would have expected a more up-to-date look given that this is a mid to high level brand that you pay the extra for. In addition, although in-room wifi was never advertised, not having in-room wifi and only having a 'business centre' downstairs feels like you've travelled back in time ten years. Hopefully Crowne Plaza will move to renovate this hotel and include in-room wifi in the near future.
