Good location but not very clean. Bedside table had dust and hair and ring marks. Water in vanity sink would not drain away and dirt and crumbs on the floor. When we got there was then hit with a $200 deposit which was not informed about. Property needs a good make over.

I booked my stay online. 1 bedroom beachfront Room 902. Married couple.
The hotel is an older building which in truth needs a bit of a makeover, however if you can look past the peeling paint and cracked tiles its perfect and very cheap.
902 is on the NE corner and as such the views from the kitchenette/loungroom look up the beach, the bathroom and bedroom offer views directly out to sea and rolling waves.
It has everything you need for long stay although ours was for only 2 nights.
Reading other reviews .... Yep, the windows are not crystal clean due to the beachfront location due to salt and wind, however the windows and sliding windows could be opened in 902.
Yep, no airconditioner which agreed may be an issue in Summer but not required in July.
Coloured parrots greeted us on the small balcony hoping for some food which was quite lovely.
Sofa converts to double bed although not used. Kitchen fully functional with cook top and oven although not used. 3/4 size refrigerator, crockery cutlery all ok but only would be enough for 3 people.
Swimming pool and spa area looked great (visable directly below our balcony but not used by us)
In closing, its not the Ritz, but I have certainly stayed in worse and paid a lot more. Same apartment down the road would set you back 3 or 4 times as much. Locted a block North of Cavel Avenue.
We smiled at Just over $100 per night (wotif.com)

Room Tip: there are multiple rooms advertised online. BEACHFRONT means views directly facing the beach. OCEAN...

Loved the location - right across from the beach. But unfortunately that is where it stops. Room & furniture was old & in desperate need of replacing. I think it just needs a massive refurb.

We loved Surfers Paradise but were a bit disappointed in this property. The big surprise was the absence of air conditioning. I know, it didn't say it had it on the website, but you kind of expect it in warm locales. Our room was on the 16th floor and we kept the windows open (needed to do that to survive the heat) but the noise from the street made it up that high. The party people went to about 3:30 in the morning and the beach walkers started at 5:00.

Other than that, we liked the layout and everybody was nice.

I loved the location.. Best thing about this hotel, although hotel needs some readjustment.
The rooms are apparently "self contained" well they made cooking food very limited, a toaster and microwave is not self contained.
The carpet needs to be fixed, it was coming out from the joints, which is not a good look.
It would be nice to sit on the balcony... Oh wait there was no balcony, which sucked. And it would of been a good view but the windows were very dirty.
A hint to chateau beachside, maintain the rooms n clean them!
